What a stupid thought^^^I would rather see the Jays fall off the map this month, so that they're sellers rather than buyers at the deadline. If they go 'all in' at the end of this month, they have the potential to possibly win a Wild Card berth, and perhaps get their first post season win in about ten years. This will only extend the rebuild.
I think they could get some good value for their expiring contracts, (Bichette, Scherzer, Bassit), and they may be able to pawn Springer and Gausman's last years onto somebody else - both are signed through 2026. If they don't, more than half of the 2026 budget will be eaten by the contracts of Guererro, Santander, Giminez, Kirk, Springer and Gausman and Hoffman, with a ton of holes to fill.
They aren't real contenders this year; they're a middle of the pack team on a hot streak. It's like when a midfield driver is leading an F1 race because all of the better cars have already made their pit stop.
Rogers, as always, has the 'We'll worry about that later" approach, delaying the inevitable for as long as possible.
Maybe I need to get used to him, but there's something about Joe Siddall's commentating I dont like.Buck Martinez has suffered a health setback,, miss his colour commentating. He's optimistic he'll be back soon
4 HB is a bit of a concern.

Casey Candaele is part of the only 'mother and son' duo in which both played professional baseball. His mom, Helen played in 495 games across five seasons of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, (1944-49), despite not being 'All-American'; she was born in Vancouver. Not bad for a guy who was a so-so major leaguer.
