Listen, no one is disputing that he had the most votes. But more than 50% of voters did not vote for him.
The Electoral College is out of date, and deeply favours the Republicans.
Look at the percentage of votes that Biden won in 2020 vs Trump winning now and yet Biden won less Electoral College votes than Trump.
Hillary got almost 3million more votes than Trump, and yet Trump won the Presidency then!!
So then you think that Trudeau, who got less votes the last campaign, is not legit either? And first past the post favors the Liberals? And his promise of electoral reform he failed to produce? What about that?

This is why Trump won, this arrogance. The only way Trump wins is by having Biden voters switch. Just as in 2016 Obsma voters voted for Trump.

Keep it up. Call them deplorable. I'm sure it will work at some point.
What about 2020 when Biden won by more than 7 million votes? There maybe a couple of million that switched to trump as his votes increased by a small margin.
However, the reason why Harris lost was two fold. If Biden stepped down earlier than Harris would have had much more time to prepare rather than at the last minute.
The Gaza War was instrumental in pivoting the pendulum in Trumps favour as a significant voters including Muslims either staying away from voting or wasting their votes with a third party candidate!!

You called them deplorable.....not me!!

Listen now, why are you throwing Canada in the mix? We do not have an Electoral college System like they do in the States.
Canada has several parties and not just two main parties as they do in the USA.
That is why we have a Minority Coalition Government, although the NDP pulled out of it.
The Conservatives just do not want a Proportional Representative System. Especially if and when they get into power. I am in favour of it, over the first past the post.
It is a true democracy that works and one man one vote is more meaningful. But butler, The Electoral college is the most outdated Democracy System that is worse than our system!!

Trump recieved more votes in 2020 than 2016. So that theory is out. And when in the end it came down to 10,000's votes among swing states those votes mattered in 2016, and 2024.

Well at least you blame Biden. Now when you can blame Harris, who failed to do her job and remove him as VP, and the Dem leadership who covered up his cognitive decline, then maybe you can come around to the rot in the party. The bad policy they have, the abandoned middle class and working class they left behind, and realize they are not the party of the people.

Then they can start to win. And not just expect to.

You are cheering the Neo-Nazi style of autocracy where trump picks nothing less than rapists and child incest molesters to follow his retarded and outdated practices, the hypocrite that he is and pretends to have Christian values!!
Yet it is okay for him to be above the law with his 34 felons, rapist convictions. On the other hand when the educated system asks everyone to respect one another's personal choices including their own bodies, to the extremists it is called "Woke"!!
What a unhinged rant...And stop lying...Trump was never convicted of rape!!

I am not disputing that Trump had more votes than 2020 than 2016. What you failed to see is that Biden had a record number of votes in 2020 that was around 7 million more than Trump.
The margin between Harris and Trump is a lot less than that!! I blamed Biden for not gracefully deciding to be a one term President. Harris did a great job as Trump was ahead of Biden by double digits in the polls. She worked energetically to close that gap in a very short time. Listen it was Trump who handed them an economy where the deficits were at record levels and shortly after that with The Supply Chain Disruptions and Food shortages resulting in an intensive Global Inflation plus disruptions in Supply Chains, the Ukraine War, that eventually resulted in it hitting all countries around the Globe. Look at the UK where a fiscally conservative Conservative Govt. got decimated at the polls. Australia.. same issue. The Democrats gave better tax breaks to the Middle Class than Trump did as well as investing in several industries. Do not forget that the Republicans gave the biggest tax breaks to the elitists and drums to the rest. He wanted to abolish the ACA without an alternative. When Trump implements his policies then these Americans will wake up!!

If the Loonie left win: Its a victory for democracy
If the Loonie left lose: The vote system needs to be changed. its not true democracy

and they are too stupid to figure out their detachment from reality is what cost them the election the first place.
The Democrats had every chance to change the system and chose not to. You think Gore losing in 2000 would've done that. But no they even missed the chance when Hilary lost in 2016.

Is this a thread about the Canadian Elections?
Since when did all parties keep up to every single promise?

Can you not read? Do I have to answer the same question several times when this thread is all about the USA Elections?
Sure I prefer a proportional representative system that most EU Nations have adopted.
But do you think that the Electoral College is a fair representation of the American voters?

Do you think ours is, which is actually the same system that we had to follow that the U.K. and all former English colonies use.

Again can you not comprehend that our system is better than the Electoral college System in the USA?
However, to me the Proportional Representative System is Ideal and that is why most developed nations have adopted it.
More representative that even one more vote than your second placed rival will mean that you won the elections!!
