After yesterday's slobberknocker between Bianca and Aza, today both Shapo and Leylah have tough draws.

So how did Shapo lose in straight sets to Carlino?
The stats didn't tell the story, they showed them to be equal...except for one. Double faults: Shapo had 10, Carlino had 1.
The turning point came in the 7th game of the 2nd Set. Shapo was up 4-2 but facing break point, Carlino was at the net. He sent a lob in, Shapo had to crank the passing shot. He didn't put enough mustard on his return, Carlino returned it cross court for the break.

Bianca looked really out of sorts against Tsurenko, she was never in the match. The reward for the winner was to play Iga on clay - who had just given her opponent a Montreal (double bagel).

They are almost the same age, Lorenzo Musetti hasn't dropped a set getting to the Round of 16. To win at Roland Garros you have get passed Carlos Alcaraz Garfia.

It was difficult to watch, but I think it was more of a case of Tsurenko hitting a bunch of incredible shots. Bianca had no chance on many of them.
Tsurenko was at the top of her game.
