Sinner was head and shoulders better than Djok. His time is over. The younger guys have matured. They are getting too big, too strong and too fast for him to keep returning everything.
And not that I'm a Medvedev fan, but I'm glad to see the prima donna (and domestic abuser) lose. And when he doesn't have his hair covering 3/4 of his face, he's hard to look at.
Djok may have the most Grand Slams but I will never put him in the conversation of GOAT. He wins mainly because he gets to and returns so many balls. When you watch him you'll notice that he never creates great points. Some players you watch and you are amazed at how they flow around the court, attack and dominate and overpower/overmatch an opponent. It's like, "Wow. Did you see that shot? It's artistry." With Djok it's always "How did he get that ball back?"
I think a good comparison would be like saying that Floyd Mayweather is the GOAT of boxing. He had an undefeated record based solely on defense. He didn't fight to win. He fought to not lose. I think that Djok plays the same way. Ali lost a number of fights. Does anybody think Mayweather was better?
