Bianca's long history of injuries continues.
A curse or just coincidence?

Bianca won US Open in 2019 and has been injured ever since and not won any title since.
Naomi Osaka won in 2020 and was beset with mental fatigue and poor form before she had a baby and out of the tour
Emma Raducanu won in 2021 and hasnt won a title since. She had surgery on both hands and a small procedure on her ankle and not competing this year. She is ranked #186 currently.

Caught in a dream...I was Sumo Wrestling with Leggy Supermodel.

So far, no player has been consistent enough to take the No. 1 spot from Iga Swiatek. Elena Rybakina is the most likely candidate, if she wins the US Open.

Still rooting for any female player other than Iga to win the title. If she repeats, I won't hear the fucking end of it from her horrible fans online. Won't friggin hear the end of it from them until eternity... (n)

So the Canadian story at the U.S. Open. Shapo injured, DNP. Bianca injured, DNP. Felix out in 1st round. Milos out in 1st round. Leylah out in 1st round. Rebecca Marino out in 1st round (to the 700th ranked player in the world). No Canadians left. I guess I’ll just have to cheer for some other country’s players. Go Coco! Go Ruud!

^ Very sad. It was just mentioned on TSN that the last time no male or female Canadian singles players made it to the second round of the US OPEN was in 2008. :(

Leylah was down 3-0 in the third set. Then she won 4 straight games and was serving at 4-3 with the crowd cheering her on. But she got broken to make it 4-4. And that was the end of the ball game. Unforced errors at the worst possible time. The grit that took her to the 2021 final is gone. Sad

Venus Williams is 43. She lost 6-1, 6-1 to a Belgian qualifier. Looks like she keeps playing just for the applause. Not dignified.

No Greeks left at Flushing Meadows, Stefanos Tsitsipas goes down in 5 sets to a qualifier with booming serve named Dom Stricker in the best match of the US Open so far. The young Swiss player may have a number of upsets in his arsenal - have serve will travel. The Player with the hardest serve on the men's side is Hubert Hurkasz. He got into a war of attrition against Joker at Wimbledon, the pole lost but he bludgeoned Djokovic. Which eventually lead to Carlito winning Wimbledon.

In the women draw both Maria Sakkari and Caroline Garcia appear to be suffering from FAA Syndrome.

I watched a good chunk of that match. It was very good. I don't think Tsitsipas played great but Stricker was forcing the issue.

What I DID like was Tsitsipas' girlfriends; mother. It looked like she has really nice tits.

TSN didn't show the Thiem vs Shelton match, it turned into a walkover, Thiem is still not match fit.

I wasn't expecting Kvitova to exit so early, Wozniaki returned to action an the CO and didn't impress. I didn't expect Danielle Collins to lose to Elise Mertens (who also has a wicked body), she's always done well against the Belgian.

Before she had her hand stabbed in a home invasion, Petra Kvitova matched Serena Williams power.

I like to look at the betting odds now and then to see who the public/whales are putting their money on. I don't know the exact stat, but let's say if the Joker has won 3/23 US Opens, is it smart to bet on him to win at even money ? That's why they say the "house always wins" !

Holy snappin arseholes Batman, yes house always wins. I had picked Hubert Hurkacz to get to at least the Qfinals, instead he goes out in the second round to Jack Draper - who may be Andy Murray's heir apparent. Jannik Sinner takes out his doubles partner Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets.

There's something missing at Flushing Meadows, I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I know, the US Open has to carry on without Lovely Nick Kyrgios.

Just with his amazing service games, I thought Hurkacz would cruise to 1/4's myself . . .

A crappy draw for Hurkacz (almost typed Hercazz), Jack Draper is a rising star. He beat Jannik Sinner in the build up to Wimbledon, they are the same age.
