Really hope Iga is eliminated in Round 1 tomorrow, so I don't have to deal with her disgusting and toxic fan base online.
I signed up to the tennis channel, Wimbledon is the most exciting tournament, I'm looking for dark horses.
Diane Parry is one, unless she gets ousted in the first round. She dropped a first set tie-breaker to Harriet Dart then bagled in the second. Solid game, needs to put more pepper on her serve, she's very young, it will come. She reminds me of Naomi Osaka.

It's rare that Iga faces an opponent a full year younger than herself. Diane has been improving rapidly, the odds are still with Iga but you never know.

Andreeva has the advantage of having not much to scout on, her opponents don't know what to expect. That's how Raducanu won in 2021. She's too young to be competing at the top level, eventually her opponents will be able to scout her, starting so young hasn't helped Cori Gauff, she lost to Sophia Kenin.
After winning the AO, Kenin was in the Top 5 players in the world. The French Open was in the Fall of 2020, a teenager tore her heart out....it happens.

I did watch the Gauff vs Kenin through, the American was the best defensive player before she got riddled with injuries. She won both the Hobart and AO to vault to No.4 in the WTA rankings in 2020.
Jannik Sinner got Center Court by being the player who pushed Joker hardest at last year's tourney. I was expecting the Italo/Argie Cerundolo to take at least a set, no such luck. Sinner has a blistering serve, once those aces start pilling up it's difficult for his opponents to respond. Joker and Alcaraz are on opposite sides of the draw, imho Sinner has a better chance of beating Joker than the Spaniard does.

Leggy Supermodel is getting ready to play her opening round match. If she wins it again this year, no other player will come close until 2026.
I am not much of a tennis fan but I root for the Canadians. Particularly Fernandez and Andrescu. But I have never seen a Leylah versus Andrescu (sp) match. Have they ever played each other? Who would be favoured to win?

^ On tour level the 2 have never played against each other yet. They may have practiced together at some events before.
I've been waiting a long time to see the 2 Polish players Iga Swiatek vs Magda Linette which has never happened before either. At Wimbledon right now in Round 4 there is a chance if the TENNIS GODS want to make it happen. However, I'd rather see Iga eliminated in Round 2 instead. LOL
