seriously though .... how much can ya take!. I totally understand that the person is only doing their job.what bothers me most is when they continue to push after you have already tried to politely say no to whatever the f**k they are pitching....drives me nuts. lol
calling me on a saturday morning at 9am does'nt make me any happier either lol....all this crap has made me turn my ringer off permanently . lol
it never ends ...one stops and another calls!
You know, there are few things I hate more than getting a call from a telemarketer, but that's never a reason to lose one's cool with the caller. Unless it's the president of the company calling you (doubtful), it's likely just somebody doing a job and trying to make end's meet. Personally, I'd never work for a telemarketing company, but I've got choices and options that others don't. Frankly, I rather some guy dialing my number for $7.50/hour than stealing my wallet.
On those rare occasions when I get a call and when I don't have a porno tape to run full blast in the background, I typically politely decline the sale, ask to speak to a supervisor, express my displeasure for being bothered and ask where I can file a formal complaint to the company's upper management. Let's face it, telemarketing wouldn't exist if some people weren't actually buying the stuff these guys are selling. I remember a relative a few years ago that started working for one as a summer job and quit because their calls were scored and graded poorly when they didn't try to overcome objections at least three times during a call. Imagine how frustrating that is from both sides of the call!
You can also prevent a lot of solicitation by being very careful who you give your personal information. I mean, for all of you that collect things like travel Miles, you're being added to marketing lists. The "free" online surveys, the fill-this-out-and-win-a-car raffles, all the same stuff.
