Here's the thing, you're probably 100% right. It happens everywhere, and it sucks. The ultra rich should pay their fair share for the greater good. But, the way the tax laws are written in Canada and the US (and elsewhere) there are loopholes big enough to park the pyramids in that allow them to defer or avoid paying taxes. And, it is legal, for the most part.
But, recently, I saw the actor Joseph Gordon Levitt talks about how he doesn't need a Trump tax break:
