Canada's goal should be to drive gas prices up to $5 in the USA. Go hard and early and this wil be over faster.
I agree.

Canada should add a one year export tariff of 15% on Canadian energy. On top of Trumps' 10% that he used to protect him from direct outrage. DO NOT FUCK WITH AN AMERICAN's RIGHT TO DRIVE BIG SUV's and VULGAR PICKUP TRUCKS. Petroleum, hydro and uranium. Many US refineries can only run on Alberta crude so they would HAVE to pay the tariff... and pass it on to the US motorist! I say make it ONE year only so that no companies nor state governors will fund alternate sources or convert refineries etc.

In the meantime, Trudeau should not wait until his successor is in place to do whatever he can to get an East/West coast to coast gas and oil pipeline that runs ONLY through Canada. And to the Pacific to be able to market our petroleum to other markets.

Canada should put 100% tariffs on any car made in the USA that does not have at least 10% Canadian or Mexican content. Yes Elon Musk, GO FUCK YOURSELF lol. MEanwhile we should drop the tariffs on Chinese EVs to 35%, just to piss off Trump lol any Chinese manufacturer that establishes manufacturing in Canada gets tariff free imports dollar for dollar.
Fuck me... I'm agreeing with nottyboi!

Do not underestimate China. It maintains trade relations with countries worldwide, and not long ago, it was considered less than first-world. China has significantly improved its standard of living in a short period. Unlike Americans, who have not faced similar hardships, the Chinese people are willing to endure economic difficulties and tighten their belts to maintain their progress. In a confrontation, a leader like Trump may throw punches wildly, many of his missed punches will be claimed as victories. China will send him a twirling kung fu kick to the face that will send him to the mat. when faced with a well-placed, disciplined counterstrike, he will falter. If a single country’s retaliation significantly impacts the American economy, others will follow suit, amplifying the consequences. Beyond international backlash, Trump will face mounting domestic pressure as inflation drives up the cost of essentials like bread and eggs, and rising interest rates make mortgages unaffordable. As economic hardship spreads, his credibility will erode, and public confidence in his leadership will collapse. Even the MAGA men of Tennessee will turn on Trump when their livelihoods and savings dwindle. If Trump's financial policies are a colossal failure he may be setting himself and his family to go down the road of financial oblivion. Why is Canada and Mexico hit with a 25% tariff when Trump is only placing a 10% tariff on China?

Trump is under the impression he will be fighting a rickshaw driver, he has picked a fight with the dragon. See the last 30 seconds of the Bald and Bankrupt video.

It is a good sign that most of us agree on the counter tariffs. Hopefully the whole country will be united.

Unfortunately, my expectation is that Trump will increase the USA tariffs as a result of Canadas counter tariffs. He has to play the strong man.

The fans booed the American national anthem hard at the Senators game tonight. It sparked quite a spirited debate on the fans FB page. It got so heated that they thread was deleted. Trump might just inadvertently galvanize Canada. I personally think that he holds Justin as a weak leader and figures he can take advantage of that.

Does this make you proud Mitchy? Are you feeling good about your cult leader? Are you looking forward to the incoming tariffs?

Maybe Trudeau is weaker than his daddy was, but I believe - hope - that Canadians will forget that for the time being.

On a similar note, this is the first occasion when I have been able to agree with Doug Ford.

Thats one way to do it. I would prefer we use supply management. That way we can reduce volumes and allow the oil producers to make more per barrel and create supply pressure in the USA. Also the fact that Trump hates supply management (even though he is the founder of OPEC +) is a little added bonus.

Good times make for weak leaders, we shall see what JT is made off. I don't think he is that weak. Remember he stepped into the ring with that Mohawk wife beating senator and beat the piss out of him.
