Personally I agree with you: I don't understand why someone would pay for a companion's time during a dinner date. I've supped with a few SPs, but never on the clock (I did pick up the tabs, put I do that with civvies too).

Hundreds, if not thousands, of guys have had similar experiences as you with SP's over the years. This is totally different than the scenario where an SP is being "paid" for their time during a date.
