For that price...impossible. It's like going to the Honda dealership and trying to get a brand new Accord for $8,000.

Harry Rosen does a good JP Tilford MtM suit for about $1,200.

And to look like a GQ model, you need a GQ body: ie waist of 30", chest of 40" and 6ft tall. No suit can help you if you have a waist of 46" and a chest of 38".

If $400 is your budget, I'd suggest a nice tailor in Saigon or Shenzen.

If you want to stay in toronto, you better save your shekels and plan on at least $1,000.

Rego at First Canadian advertises MTM for $899, but I can't stand their pompous staff.

You are probably better off buying a decent suit from Moores and getting it altered so it fits perfectly. The older lady at the Bay downtown (Queen street, basement level) is an exceptional seamstress. She's done great work on my clothes, for a reasonable price.

NHFL, have you ever bought a suit from indochino?
No I haven't. With the casualization of Corporate Canada, I don't need suits much anymore.

Having said that, I believe I have provided the ONLY option you will get when it comes to a custom made suit at the price you want.

are there actually any non tailored cheaper suits that would fit something like

6ft/30 waist/41chest/51 shoulders?

went to moores, sears, the bay, and all the suits there were garbage... and I really dont want pay big $$ for a tailored suit, since my measurements will still change a bit.

Get a student in fashion design to make you a suit if your budget is that tight. Otherwise go and buy a quality suit at Goodwill and eat until you fit it just right.
