Addiction is a coping mechanism.
To beat this "addiction" you have to do dopamine detox or reset.
i.e. If you've been putting something off, avoiding, painting, fixing something on your car, cleaning the house/apartment, etc, you literally have to jump in and do it.
Some don't like this method because it's swinging the pendulum too far and fast to the other side, but for some it's the right method.
Or there's this method, which I haven't tried myself but seems good too.
www.youtube.com
My friend taught me this not too long ago. He explained it to me and I thought "okay, sure?".
A few days later I sent him a link to youtube, his literal text back was "can't watch it yet, I didn't earn it". So whatever he was doing for work he had to get that done, along with groceries and other life stuff.
He would only watch the video after he did what he had to do during the day.
No different than playing a game on your phone or whatever, you're giving yourself a reward before doing anything. We're doing it wrong.
Shit isn't easy, but if you push through it one day at a time, it seems to get easier.
If you have to, try hour by hour with the porn addiction if that's how bad it is.
Look up dopamine detox, tons of stuff out there.
