I was actually pretty surprised how well drivers were handling the major intersections during my 3 hour bus ride up Bathurst. It was very slow going, but I didn't see a single collision at an intersection, just a couple of cars that were probably out of gas along the road. It is clearly tricky to navigate a multi lane major intersection, with all the turning and pedestrians, all in total darkness.

I guess you don't have a Backwater Valve? It automatically senses a reverse flow (water flowing the wrong direction and back into your home) in your main line and completely closes it off from the sewer system outside. This prevents your basement drain backing up. It can save you a lot of damage and headaches. I think the city will even pay part of the cost, worth looking into.
Plus with all that water its very possible for a sinkhole to suddenly emerge. And if that happens you could easily drown.

Maybe if you were fired for wasting all your employers time making 30,000 posts at work, and exposing the employer to sexual harassment/poisoned workplace claims you will meet him one day! Or more likely one of his junior assosciates!
If it is a write-off, I wonder if his insurance will cover it since floods are considered "acts of god"
