STIs from providers

I am sure someone has but it is highly unlikely you will if you use condoms correctly during oral and intercourse. Of course, many on here enjoy BBBJ rather than CBJ and that does carry some risk of HSV 1 and 2, HPV, syphilis and gonorrhea. The latter two are very rare in practice. Chlamydia can theoretically be transmitted through unprotected oral but that is very, very rare (see https://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/oral-sex-question/show/2159728). When in doubt get tested.
Has anyone ever contracted an STI from a provider?

If you're gonna tangle w the pro's act like a pro - wear the proper gear and get tested routinely.

Agreed. Please all clients and civilians should be getting tested regularly. Especially when it's free in Canada and we have hassle free clinics, just do it, and also please use condoms and don't do pussy slides and other risky activities. It's easier for female providers to be on the receiving end of an STI due to anatomy compared to a male client. I haven't had one yet, but I still care about being ultra careful and getting tested.
Plus I think the more this industry police's itself the more it will be left alone....an epidemic will bring the authorities crashing down upon it.

City of Ottawa runs free clinics:

The Sexual Health Clinics are funded to provide services which include free and confidential STBBI (sexually transmitted blood borne infection) testing and treatment; and low cost birth control to Ontario residents including:

People with symptoms of STBBIs
People who have had sex with someone with an STBBI
People most affected by STBBIs

I've always been a bit surprised that showing proof of sexual health testing isn't discussed (and I definitely mean on both sides), but this would also mean proving your real name and id to match the test results.

I wonder if discrete proof is a thing? Your face, age, height, weight, a code # that can be validated online discreetly again. Not sure it would even help, people would push for riskier service likely (for sure). Maybe best to assume everyone could be affected.

If you knew that someone has an STD, would you have sex with them even with protection? I would not.
So, basically everyone assumes that the other person does not have any STDs, most do risky things like kissing and oral, but FS must be protected.
Weird.

For what purpose? We already have guys asking to show us outdated papers and asking for bbfs. Get tested yourself so you know you’re clean. Showing each other papers means nothing and they can be outdated and lead people to think they’re safe to do unsafe activities.
Oh I completely agree that all should be tested, that's what I meant 'on both sides'. Kind of like a sexual health licensing. I believe they do this where it is legal in European brothels.

It's a slippery bunny hole to start presenting paper. But there are benefits to the process. However, education and guidelines must be in place as well.

Providers would never be able to rely on clients presenting papers. The guys who have STIs would have every incentive to fake them, and there would never be a foolproof way to detect that.

Agreed, but right now they can operate freely. I know no such system will ever be put in place under current Canadian policy. Oh well.
