Biologically race is a complete fabrication, it does not exist.
But despite the fact that it may be a biological phantom, it DOES exist...

The fact that it does exist when it shouldn't means that the solution is much more difficult than we think it is.

Post count means nothing to me (other than when I see obvious newbie shill posts). I don't see Thermopylae and Eddie 401 throwing their weight around, but you certainly seem to think you are something special. TERB posts do not correlate with life experience.

I find the sentiment oagre was expressing to be fairly common on boards. "Veterans" have a tendency to dismiss "newbies" because they have not devoted enough of their lives to making comments on the board. OTOH, some veterans get put down by being told they post too much and therefore must have no lives. I've noticed this accusation made against Fuji, Blackrock, Cycleguy, Rockslinger etc.

the "vets" do certainly have an attitude of arrogance about them. i joined this one forum and i was told that until i hit 1000 posts my opinion didn't matter. since i am an internet asshole and i have bad o.c.d when it comes to certain things. i sat there for about a day maybe a hair longer and posted ... 3 periods cuz the minimum to make a post was 3 characters. soon as i hit 1000 posts i told the guy to go fuck himself then left the forum and never went back.

i don't understand how the amount of time you waste on a forum has anything to do with how smart you are. like you, you are a smart guy and i read and respect most of your opinions and you are a funny guy and you seem to get it and roll with the punches. cuttyshark on the other hand is about the same as you but thinks everyone cares about his opinion above all others.

I belong on another board that is trade related to my career. There are "new" members that have been in the business for 30 to 40 years with only a few posts.
Should their advice be ignored for the advice of some "veteran" members with 3-4 yrs experience in the business?

Hmmmm. I personally think "thread count" has nothing to do with knowledge. But I've been known to be wrong every 10 years or so. ;)

TERB posts do not correlate with life experience.
TERB is like the Motley Crew. A mixed bag of personalities and life experiences. I actually enjoy views from folks who have life experiences different from mine. The problem is that TERB also has more than its fair share of ignorant, rude and/or insulting jerks who add nothing to the substance of the issue under discussion.

Not going to mention names but one TERBie accused me of maybe having an "odd life". Meanwhile, he pays money to fornicate with strange (I don't mean weird) women in strange hotel rooms.

The key in realizing that it is a social fabrication is that it is something we should be able to correct with social change, and we should be doing that, and are likely not doing enough about it. The old racist idea of inherent differences is dead.

However, as a practical matter, until we do fix it, SP's face reality in a very personal and vulnerable way when they open their apartment door.

Hey All,
I'm a black canadian man, and I have a question for the SP's:
Usually, I'm loyal to one agency (Cupids) but I've been curious about the Indies on backpage.
While I'm been flipping though the ads, I've noticed a ton of "no african americans" requests by SP's.
I'm almost at the point where I want to call and ask them.
What do you think their problem is?
Thanks
Kilroy
As an Africa-Canadian (WTF does that even mean?! Came here from Jamaica as a little kid! If anything, I'm Canadian now since getting my citizenship a million years ago)...
uhm, where was I? Oh yeah! Fuck 'em I says! Oh wait. I can't because I'm Black...

It can simply be a preference matter, or previous bad experiences - whether this is right or wrong.

I'm guilty with the other side - I see only super-slutty young Orientals / the black chicks got to look like Lisa. Otherwise it is mostly tall spinnerish types.

Never notice this in the higher end ads. Don't think I have seen it here on Terb. Think part it has to do with the advertising venue and with the clients they are attracting. Talking to some ladies they state that large majority of their clients are white. Maybe their ads attract the stereotype of ghetto or thug, maybe they had an exoerience and assume that most are same. Obviously It is much easier for them to say no blacks because they are not losing out on a lot.

I see ladies of different colors because pigmentation doesn't bother me as much as it does many others. But as already said again and again, their choice just as it is yours.

The gangs are more likely to target foreign SP's as they figure, probably correctly, that they won't go to the police for fear of their immigration status causing problems.

High end SP's are much more likely to have taken security precautions and to aggressively push the police to investigate.

Gangsters like compliant, scared victims, so you will most often see this in ads for Asian, EE, latina, etc.

So are many who want to take advantage of someone. They probably deal less with gangsters and more so with guys in general who want to take advantage of them. Pretty sure of they had this happen from a white guy, their ad would not read no whites. Higher end probably through their ads websites and rates probably weeds out quite a bit of this. But true they probably would take more security precautions even befor meeting.

at my last job, my boss asked me to clean the toilet, i told him i dont clean toilets. that was that, he asked someone else.
Is that why it was your last job? If a duty fell within an employees purview and they refused a directive to perform the duty I would fire them. And have done exactly that.
This would fall under "...and sundry other duties, as required.", in a job description.

Not if you are a janitor :)

But you are right about the concept.
