I'm ok with the camera if people are going excessively fast. 62 in a 50 zone is not excessively fast. Try driving 12 km/h its a crawl. This reminds me of the photo radar the Rae government brought in on the highways back in the early 90's. Simply a tax grab.
As much as I'd like to agree with you, the camera's don't ding you for that "only 12km above" they ding y ou for "over the speed limit"...

We need enforcement for distracted drivers more than anything right now.
Put your phones down and drive.
401 has those in droves...some make the highway their own racing track....bunch of assholes are behind the wheels these days.

Here
He was smoking a joint and drinking a beer driving his speedy muscle hamster vehicle en route to his prepaid BJ booking and voila, karma strikes.
Doing all that would definitely worth an eighty dollar ticket

CAA and Autotrader (ie. car friendly organizations) are in favour of speed cameras because they actually work in slowing down traffic and saving lives. Money from speeders are a bonus.

I've been bitten a couple of times, but I'm at a point that I don't complain about it. And it's just money that would have gone to SP's, not points.

They ding you for over 10 usually. Plenty of these cameras in Durham. Have always gone under 10 over and never gotten a ticket. It is not like you do 2 over and you are being busted.

Easiest solution. Don’t speed.

I got hit with a $325 red light ticket on the way home from work the other day…. 😢

I appreciate the vigilantes who knock down these cameras every other day more now lol 😂

My problem with red lights is that it doesn't give enough time to slow down when the lights change from green to red. Its really only maybe 2 or 3 seconds, so i always find myself in a situation where i need to either breaks really hard or just accelerate a little bit and make it while it's still yellow. In my home country, there is at least 5 seconds of flashing yellow light in between, which makes a huge difference.
The only way around it, is, where it's possible, i look at pedestrian crossing lights along the direction where i am going and check if a countdown started. If it's like 5 seconds and i am too far from intersection, i will start slowing down.

They're tax and spend commies out there, worse than Chairman Chow
They need to pay those fat salaries for doing nothing somehow.

Yeah it’s my fault LOL that’s what happened when your running late for work 😢 - hopefully this will be my last and final red light ticket

We need to have an app installed on every car and it will identify any time you go 1 kilometer over the posted limit. You will be billed automatically and if you do not pay, they will confiscate your car, Garner your wages or imprison you.
Don't give them ideas ...

Wow ... " In 2024, Toronto's 75 automated speed enforcement cameras generated nearly $40 million (!) in fines."

https://www.torontotoday.ca/local/t...mera-debate-ford-government-wades-in-10684614

That's an astounding amount of money. And it doesn't include red-light cameras, which are an additional cash grab.

Are there really that many dangerous drivers in Toronto? Everyone goes over the posted limit at one time or another. And they know it.

Well I guess I joined the club as well 12 km over what I don’t agree with is the two dollars and 50 sent processing fee if you pay by phone the dollar 50 processing fee if you pay online and the fact you do not face your accuser. But what really intrigues me is with all the money Brampton is raking in on these cameras what are they spending it on clown Brown answer that.

It happens, don't be too hard on yourself. You drive a lot (probably more than anyone on this forum), so sometimes such situations might happen. Even Angels cannot be perfect all the time 😘

I don't have a problem with red light cameras.
Every goddam month they put up a set of lights at random intersections. Super quiet side streets that intersect with Bloor or St Clair get as much green light time as the busy major road they
intersect ! My drive to work from the west end to downtown has 12 more sets of lights than it did 20 years ago. City Council wants to drive drivers insane so they take the TTC or bicycle.
