Some questions about STIs/STDs + dormancy

Firstly, my partner and I have never been tested. We were each other's first times, high school sweethearts, and have been mostly monogamous since then (mostly because I'm quite sure she's never slept with anyone else... but on my end, there was a brief time in our relationship where I slept with another person a few times, but my current partner still took me back). This was about 9-10 years ago. Still never tested for STIs before getting back together.

Fast forward, I've given into the temptations on this board and saw a SW a couple days ago. Performed DATY/BBJ/CFS. Immediate regret as I'm scared of bringing home an STI to my partner, don't want to lose her, but now feeling a little 'tickle' in my throat.

Questions:
1. Is it possible to continue having unprotected sex with my partner without transmitting anything? We only do unprotected now and don't even have protection in the house, so going protected until I test negative isn't an option.

2. In the case that I'm positive for an infection, would it be possible that I could've actually contracted it from the person in my past? I've read most STIs can lay dormant and not even show symptoms for years?

3. How plausible is the following... say I'm now positive for something and tried writing it off as a dormant infection from my past partner that I didn't know about... If my partner ends up testing but tests negative, how likely is it that in the last 9-10 years I haven't given her anything, if it were really the case that I was infected from that past partner? Or is this a story that's likely to be called bullshit by every doctor out there lol

Any help is appreciated.

Get tested and put your mind at ease. Syphilis is one that can be dormant for long long time without symptoms.
I plan to as soon as I can, but waiting the recommended incubation periods (I think 1-3 weeks?) for an accurate test and to eliminate false negatives. I'm just somewhat concerned about whether it's okay to continue having sex in the meantime

If you're worried don't have sex until you've been tested. Make up an excuse. Catch covid. Whatever. Plus, people do get a bit paranoid afterward if they have partners and any little itch or bump throws them into panic. But get yourself tested asap. Sometimes if you say you did this unprotected a doctor can prescribe a dose of doxycyclene as a prophylactic measure.
Good luck. Don't compound the mistake. Know for sure.

Dude, it's in your head.
Relax, get a test and move on with your life.

Had similar freak out before. For me it was burning sensation of peeing a day after I see a sp. While waiting to get my test result back, doc put me on doxycycline as precaution. Fortunately test result is negative. I am suspecting the burning sensation probably due to the sp going at the tip of penis when doing a bbbj and caused some trauma to urinating tip.

Thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity, how bad does the burning feel like? Is it a clear burning sensation? I can't tell if it's actually burning or if it's just in my head... Once the flow starts it burns a bit, but then it goes away quickly... But I'm also not sure if it's cause I'm often dehydrated?

Very mild burning when I pee. But after pee feels better. Only last for a week and get better

Tried today to get an online prescription, doctor wouldn't prescribe doxycycline for "prevention" and claimed I needed to know what I had in order to get the right prescription (either ceftriaxone or azithromycin iirc). I tried to say that those were more for treatment, I just wanted doxy for prevention, he didn't buy it...

Where do you guys get doxy same/next day? Ideally anonymous. For now I booked the 49$ consult thing from Teletest but no timeslots until next week.

GTA & Thereabouts...
Bro... Don't panic but do not search for an excuse. A tickle in your throat could be a head cold.

You'll get pills when there is snot coming out of your dick and it burns.

You'll be lucky if it is chlamydia.

Thanks. Are you able to share what online doctor/service you used to get the prescription to your local pharmacy? Was it Maple?

you should just book at a hassle free clinic. A pain maybe to get to the location but faster and easier and anonymous

I'm planning to go today, for both testing and discussion/prescription of DoxyPep. How do I remain anonymous? Just don't provide OHIP stuff? Do I need to give fake name, pay the fee, etc? Ideally I don't want anything traced back to me or anything given to my family doctor. I'm also confused, if tests happen to be positive, will they report to public health and then public health will notify my partner...?

Don’t know exactly how it works. I get tested through my doctor and have never had an STD so I have never had to report anything.

However, if the test results are positive, you have a responsibility to tell your wife. You would be a complete dick if you didn’t. This wouldn’t be about “cheating” anymore. It would be about her health. Which is more important than you and your fears about your relationship. I’m not trying to sound like a bitch here but if your partner stepped out and got an STD and didn’t tell you about it; how would you feel?
