Looks like partly cloudy in Niagara as well. Fears of a mob scene might be overblown. On the other hand, there are people who have had every room in town booked for at least 6 months, and lots of yokels outside the totality band will think they can just come in for a day trip without much traffic. They should have been in the falls for the Walenda walk. A lot of people here are getting the day off, luckily not a holiday everywhere or there would be no doubt about zoo conditions...Or stay locally and hope the Sun peeks out just around eclipse time
FWIW, I watched he last partial eclipse from Muskoka and it was kinda neat but nothing special. I think it was 1/2 obstructed.
But a friend of mine planned a motorcycle road trp through the Smoky Mountains (?) t coincide with the total eclipse. He said it was surreal! Fucking awesome and he doesn't swear! He was all set up to take pictures on th tripod but the sudden darkness was spellbinding and he simply didn't want to waste the experience even looking at his camera!
Believe me folks, you are in for a treat. I saw Totality in Oregon in 2017. I did take pics with my Mylar filtered SLR camera but was so impressed just looking at it. Look for Venus and Jupiter to shine in the darkened sky.
I am not taking chances, will go to Montreal for this. Granted some areas may have more minutes of Totality than Montreal but what does that matter if its cloudy ? Gotta go to where its clear folks.

But if the large area of high pressure is strong, it may slow up the Low from pushing the mid-continent stationary front eastward enough to allow for some clear skies in The Niagara Falls area into Monday. Unfortunately, with this kind of system you don;t know when that low will breakthrough until it does.
The further east you go the better. Sandbanks /Prince Edward County, Kingston, Cornhole would be a surer bet. Sherbrooke Quebec being the surestvand best.

I really though Dave Devall had a chalk finger! I went to Nursery school with his son and i always asked him if it was genetic and if his finger would turn into chalk! We'd all grab chalk and swing our hands across the blackboard pretendign we were on TV giving the weather forecast!

Niagara Falls is still a far bit off the blue center of totality. The blue line gives you ~ 3 1/2 minutes of darkness. The shadow is a circle and as you move from the center you will cut a cord (section) that has much less totality the farther you are away. The edge of the circle is the orange line. You will note that Port Maitland to Port Colborne is closer to both the blue line and Hamilton than Niagara Falls. That is the direction I'm heading.
As for the comment why not watch it on TV - you can watch life or live it. To be in mid-day darkness for 3 minutes in a once in a life time event - I'd rather live it.
