I'm surprised at the number of guys here being ok with the guy not protecting his own girl. Lmao yall some bitches.
You haven't come across the videos in Youtube how women want everything but not give anything in return, the men are not having it. OR I am feminist and I can do everything on my own.
Good Samaritan gets killed. He did right by calling / shouting help. Or maybe she was balling the guy down and he was like - fack this and walked away.

On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Greece
Relationship has to be over.

The BF has to go plain and simple...Dude is a coward.

Much respect to the guy with the motorcycle helmet that jumps in first and the man in the tan shirt with the hat ( he can't punch at all but he's in there)...These are real alphas right into protect mode.

She's with the wrong guy.

Man, what are you rambling about. We're talking about the vid posted. Dude's girl gets assaulted and he cowers away. This doesn't even have anything to do with her being a girl. If it was his boy he should've jumped in too.

The soi boy as he’s known in this vid is a fucking pussy plain and simple. The heroes in the vid should have given soi boy a slap too.

No doubt the girl dumped him when they got back to the hotel. He would be of no value to her whatsoever after his total failure. What a fucking loser. Disgusting. Zero respect.

Anyone making excuses for soi boy is soi boy. Pathetic.

Real life is very different from the movies where Clint or Chuck or Steven or whomever jump in kick butt and take names.
Particularly when you're in a foreign country etc. The best thing is always to run and avoid confrontation.
However, that being said - there were a few times the bloke could have moved into position to grab the knife hand and certainly could have jumped in when the civilian cavalry came to the rescue.
I'm thinking once the trauma clears, and she sees the video, its adios muchacho.

Right. Get killed over a purse...

When I worked for a chain of stores, management's instructions were, in case of a robbery attempt by a person with a weapon, give the cash or whatever to the assailant.

We didn't want any employee to be seriously injured or killed trying to protect our assets.
That's the same policy they have for LCBO employees. Let some customers get away with taking thousands of dollars worth of booze without paying for it, and doing nothing about it.

Police look at the video of some of those robberies. They are probably on a first name basis with many of the perpetrators, who likely have long rap sheets for petty crimes, (ie: where no weapons/ violence is involved).

Those guys usually steal somewhere close to where they hang during the day. They'll often be arrested a few days/ weeks later, while walking on the sidewalk or standing in front of a building.

Back in the days I was talking about it wasn't a well known policy that we would not stop armed shoplifters or hold-ups.

While small-time shoplifting was common, actual hold-ups were extremely rare.

We would stop suspected unarmed shoplifters, and, if we found that they had actually been shoplifting we would bar them from the store, or hold them and call the police if a person ignored the ban and shoplifted again.

As far as shoplifting went, every Jan. 31st we would take a physical inventory at each store.

As long as "shrinkage", the term we used for a shortfall in physical vs. the "book" inventory, was less than 3% we would let it go.

If it was greater than 3% we would warn the store manager to have his sales associates be more vigilant. Two years in a row the manager would be let go...

At the LCBO their lax policy was publicized in the media, and people took advantage. No weapons were required during the blatant thefts that ensued...

Unless the guy has some sort of training (jiu jitsu, judo, wrestling or boxing) the best recourse is to call for help...never put yourself in a position where extreme harm could be on your way...have you trained to unarm a knife wielding guy? if not, don't be a hero. there was news of a well trained guy who got stabbed... unless you have real advantage over a person avoid and be alive.

He had ample time to sucker punch the guy while he was wrestling with the girl.
