Many kids & young people's lives have already been saved due to the worldwide lockdowns.

Because motor vehicle accident deaths are the #1 leading worldwide cause of death in such.

"Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens."

https://www.google.com/search?q=lead...hrome&ie=UTF-8

"Each year, 1.35 million people are killed on roadways around the world.4

"...Road traffic injuries are estimated to be the eighth leading cause of death globally for all age groups and the leading cause of death for children and young people 5–29 years of age. More people now die in road traffic crashes than from HIV/AIDS.4"

The months long government paid holiday from that 4 letter word "work" that everyone hates was great for people's mental health & quality of life.

Flu deaths, serious illnesses & long term negative health consequences as a result of the flu were also down as a result of lockdowns.

The lockdowns saved millions more from dying from C-19 relative to just treating it as the flu.

"We are far from any sort of triumph over this brutal disease. I have seen first-hand what it can do to people in intensive care, many of them previously fit and healthy."

https://www.bbc.com/news/health-53951764

Even in healthy people who don't die from C-19 "COVID-19 symptoms can sometimes persist for months. The virus can damage the lungs, heart and brain, which increases the risk of long-term health problems."

Wear a mask to protect those most vulnerable from dying as a result of - your - C-19 infection. IOW wear a mask so - you - don't murder others.

What is obviously clear is due to lockdowns:

1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down.

These safety measures practiced this year re C-19 may lead to benefits for many years to come re the flu & other illnesses, both the known & unknown. That is, if people keep practicing them.

"The annual flu shot will be more important than ever during the coronavirus pandemic, according to one infectious disease expert, who says it would be a “double whammy” to be infected with both viruses."

"...I would hope that as many people as possible recognize that the flu shot is fairly effective, it helps protect yourself and everyone around you. So please get the flu shot,” he said Thursday on CTV’s Your Morning.

“This is the one year you don’t want to miss it.”

As health officials prepare for a possible “second wave” or resurgence of COVID-19 infection in Canada in the fall, some have expressed concern that the flu season might overwhelm hospitals...

...Australia, which is nearing the end of its winter, may serve as an example: the country experienced a major drop in influenza infections and deaths compared to the previous season. Experts credit COVID-19 restrictions and lockdown measures.

...But the upcoming flu season could still prove challenging for hospitals since it can be difficult to differentiate between influenza and COVID-19 infection. In late February and early March this year, there were “undoubtedly” coronavirus infections mistaken for influenza,

...a pair of U.S. studies found that 2.1 per cent of patients in New York City and 20.7 per cent of patients in Northern California had a second respiratory infection in addition to COVID-19.“Certainly that would be a double whammy we want to prevent,” said Sharkawy.
“It speaks to the importance of doing things like hand-washing, distancing and masking in indoor settings. All of these things work and they should help prevent both of these illnesses.”

Great, then why don't we just ban cars and shut down all roads? imagine all the lives we would save.

Hysteria at it's max. Put down the cool aid.

Motor vehicle deaths are 1.35 million per year. C-19 deaths are about the same in the past 5.5 months. Without safety measures, treating C-19 as like just another flu, we'd be looking at closer to 10 million dead already with 3.5 months still left in the year.

Motor vehicle accidents are not threatening to overwhelm hospitals as with C-19 cases resulting in hospitals being forced to choose between who lives and who dies, not just C-19 patients but also non C-19 emergency patients.

Neither are car accidents contagious & with the potential to infect millions of others & kill thousands.

Nor are motor vehicle accidents a new virus that we know little about its potential consequences as to how many people it could kill etc, whether hundreds of thousands, millions, tens of millions, etc

Many other steps are being taken to reduce car deaths.

People don't have to get in a car & risk their lives if they don't want to.

Why reduce car deaths by only 50%? Why not ban them completely & reduce car deaths to 0%. Then people would still die travelling by other means. Are you going to ban all other means of transportation because people die by them also. Where do you draw the line?

Something should be done to make things safer, e.g. consider lowering speed limits, not giving out licences so easily to teens, etc.

Personally i walk or take the safer mass transit such as buses, skytrains, etc. Or if i get in a car it's a sober professional taxi driver, not an inexperienced teen. Others ride bicycles, etc.

If someone wants to risk their lives in a metal death trap, that's up to them. Hopefully they are not also putting innocent children's lives & health at risk.

Evidently flying, another option, is safer. Possibly boats & trains as well.

If you are against the lock down, organize a nGO official charity and make your case. The fact is if enough people join forces it will end. Personally, at this stage I don't think there is a good case to remove the lock down.
However, I think an closed Canada to the world, and open for biziess internally is the best stragedy we have entire provinces with no COViD cases fully open because they closed their borders
There is a strong case for a better way of dealing with Covid. Testing should be the car model like korea and it should be ordered not random lines. You sign up for an appointment on line with choices of centers that are underused first and an option for prefered center but delay. Pretty simple - this 4 hours of infected line bs is totally incompetent.

There should be test badges, ids issued and those tested clear can do stuff, those who have not can not. Currently this will last 2-3 years at the present course - I am sure by next year will see imporovents and it will end in 2 years or less (from now) but living with covid world wide is a fact - Africa not going to be cured of this for decades.

Just like we have preventive measures for driving to lower the number of accidents and fatalities (seatbelts, airbags, speed limits, safety standards, drinking & driving laws) we have preventive measures for COVID to lower the spread of the virus and the fatalities (social distancing, shutdowns of non essential businesses, masks wearing, crowd limitations).
It's truly mind boggling to me that with preventive measures in place throughout the world in the last 9 months we have seen 35Mln+ cases and 1Mln+ deaths worldwide yet there are some irrational "Stable Genius's" still questioning these preventive measures.

" Other experts argue that allowing COVID-19 to spread uncontrollably would lead to unnecessary deaths, illness and hospitalizations, even if the U.S. attempted to isolate vulnerable people from the rest of the population while the virus spreads.

"... William Hanage, an associate professor of epidemiology at Harvard who noted that most experts are not pushing for continuous lockdowns everywhere all the time, agreed that a better job needs to be done of handling the unintended economic and social consequences of public health measures but argued that speeding up herd immunity without a vaccine is not the answer and could also overwhelm hospitals.

“It’s quite dangerous, for multiple reasons,” he said.

"If you do this, you’ll get more infections, more hospitalizations and more deaths," he added.

The mainstream view of epidemiologists and public health experts, including the nation’s top infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci and the World Health Organization, is that the best way to get through COVID-19 and protect people who are at risk for serious illness is to not get sick in the first place by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.

While young people are far less likely to become seriously ill or die from COVID-19, they’re still capable of spreading the disease to people who will become very sick or die.

...Hanage questioned the ability to successfully cordon off the most vulnerable and protect them from getting infected, noting that the White House recently became the site of a superspreading event involving the president, despite having regular access to testing that the average American does not.

"The greatest risk of introduction to the most vulnerable communities will be when the rate of infection is really high in younger age groups," Hanage said.

“How would you keep the virus out if 10 percent of the younger population is infected at peak prevalence and with tests that cannot keep the virus out of the White House?” he added.

... Questions also remain about how long immunity from COVID-19 lasts after infection and whether people can become sick more than once. It’s also not known what percentage of the population needs to be infected with COVID-19 before herd immunity is accomplished.

Gregg Gonsalves, an assistant professor of epidemiology at Yale School of Medicine, tweeted in response to the declaration that a large number of people vulnerable to severe COVID-19 illness don’t live in nursing homes, including 50 percent of all Americans who have some sort of underlying health condition. He added that surges in cases among young people have already likely led to deaths of older, more vulnerable people, despite efforts to protect them.

“If you’re going to turbo-charge community spread, as everyone else at ‘low-risk’ goes about their business, I want the plan for my 86-year-old mother to be more than theoretical,” he said.

"...it is widely recognised that the economic costs of lockdowns have been necessary in order to bring down infections and deaths."

"... We advocate that future lockdown measures should be considered carefully and not be lifted all at once. Instead, there should be a stepwise approach that is constantly reviewed and evaluated, so the necessary adjustments can be made in a timely manner. Easing social distancing measures will most likely involve a process of trial and error, especially with growing evidence of new COVID-19 outbreaks emerging. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ strategy to end lockdowns, nor can the course of events be reliably predicted – the implementation of social distancing measures may be technically simple, but it is proven to be politically challenging. Responsiveness is vital.

Covid Hysteria is a new religion, and Dr Tam is their saviour.

This thread is perfect proof.
Irrationality, Ignorance and bigoted ways is a new religion practiced by a small minority of loudmouths, to which Dickstain Donald Trump is their saviour.
