The decision is Tua's to make. For athletes the game is like a drug and they are addicted to it. Not many athletes will do the long term "smart" thing and step away.

The other thing to consider is the Financial situation. If Tua retires does he have to pay back any signing bonus $$$? I am not familiar with Tua's contract detail... but if he is medically cleared and does not come back to play... what does that mean financially?

Football is such a brutal sport that there is likely a zero chance he couldn't get his bell rung again, if he returned to play. And, considering the knowledge we have about CTE and traumatic brain injuries, he should probably walk away. Just think how many concussions he probably had prior to college or the NFL. But, there is that warrior mindset, and I would be surprised if he actually did retire. I expect him back in the lineup once he's cleared to play.

Naw, the league has to put up limits.

These athletes have a different mindset, so you need rational thinking outside from a non-stakeholder.

Especially football players, they are to caught up in the hype.

Everybody has different sets of priorities in different orders. It's up to him and his family. Nobody else's opinion counts.
If he doesn't retire from the game.........The game will retire him.

The league has a CBA. that would stop this sort of thing. The NFLPA would have to give the NFL the power to do it.

Let's say the NFL say nope Tua you can't play... and Tua still wants to play. Tua will find a doctor(s) who say he is able to play. NFLPA will step in and support their union member take the NFL to court and the NFL will lose (CBA).

I don't know Tua's personal situation and what the medical DR's that treat him are saying. I assume you don't either. So you can have an opinion but know it is a completely uninformed opinion at this point.

Yes, and old white men should decide what a woman can do with her body.

He got a concussion on what would be considered a soft play. Since it's the NFL, I guess he'll be back in 2-weeks.

As long as the patient is fully informed, his body and his choice.

Did you send that to Tua?
No people should not be allowed to make their own decisions with information/recommendations from their doctors and discussing with their family. DesRicardo will decide what is best for Tua with no direct knowledge on Tua's situation.

Damn, I should have thought of that. I'll apologize to him at an appropriate time.
