Come on otb, what do expect froma guy who posts the same thing 4 (sorry, 5 now) times after the question has already been answered. If mordachi richler wasn't jewish, I'd swear never's full name might be never four-four-four-four (bad joke, I know)
And you are correct, it is only refered to as the Israel Lobby because they have pro-Israeli views. I doubt any of the lobby groups are officially registered as "Big Tobacco inc" or "Animal Rights corp."

As for never's question, here is a list of lobbiests and "contributions" for 2005http://www.opensecrets.org/lobbyists/overview.asp?showyear=2005&txtindextype=i
Pharmaceuticals/Health Products $146,783,853
Insurance $119,369,992
Electric Utilities$92,308,991
Computers/Internet $84,057,292
Education $83,148,461
Real Estate$79,570,709
Business Associations$75,323,122
Hospitals/Nursing Homes$69,833,674
Misc Issues$65,164,985
Misc Manufacturing & Distributing$65,120,006
Civil Servants/Public Officials$63,167,103
Oil & Gas$59,497,761
Air Transport$59,268,184
TV/Movies/Music$55,094,460
Health Professionals$53,402,859
Securities & Investment$52,654,721
Telephone Utilities$47,803,031
Telecom Services & Equipment$47,199,180
Automotive$46,300,676
Commercial Banks$36,529,733

The total of lobby gropus listed as pro-Israel in 2005 was just shy of 2 million. Compare this to the Pharmacutical industry which donated almost 150 million, insurance groups, 120 million, electric utilities 92 milion, .....

Most powerful my ass.

Read the numbers. The answer is clearly no, no matter how many dozen times you ask the same question. Seems like it's just your typical bias showing again.

It is also not an lobby of a foreign government, just Americans who think the US should support Israel.

I was unable to find any lobbying money spent by the state of Israel on this site (though the data from 2006 is not complete. I did find that the Government of Pakistan donated money. Also, both Canada and Ontario have donated money in the past.

Could it be because it only exists in the minds of people like you? I am sure that sites featuring words like "white pride", "aryian" will have lots of "credible" information that you will believe.

You're either thick skulled or unable to contemplate two things at once.

Are not all lobbing efforts political?

Jewish groups promoting pro-Israel policies are not Israeli lobbyist -their Jewish lobbyist.

Are Catholic group lobbyist Rome lobbyist?

As for not answering questions I think there is a reason your name is neversay....

Lobbying is done by most countries in most countries for many things. All countries spend money doing lobbying in the UN of both UN and other countries. We use it to try to establish friendships, alliances, and open trade. We have things called Ambassadors who do alot of this. Remember the amounts that went on for the soft wood lumber between Canada and the USA.

Our countries have people from every part of the globe here, as Canadian citizens, who still have kept alot of their culture, and political ideals. They have come together in groups that lobby and protest things that happen in their countries. Politicians go to these groups and listen to these citizens of Canada, as they want their votes. They do not always do as requested, but they do serve as a good source of info as to what is going on in these countires. This is all lobbying. The Jewish community has this in our country as does every other culture.

One must note that we are allies with Israel, as we are with the USA, UK, much of Europe. We have formed strong ties with many counrtries. The US has formed strong ties with some Arab countires as well like Jordan and Egypt.

When someone says Jew/Jewish, what's the first country that comes to mind? Israel, correct?
Just the two words alone, Jewish lobby, invoke geo-political imagery.

I would dare to say, that if there's a Jewish lobby group in Washington (I say "if" for fear of basketcase throwing a tantrum and giving himself a heart attack), that chances are, it's lobbying for the interests (of the 80%+ of Jews) in Israel.

Btw gramps, their and they're, have two totally different meanings.
If you need help in understanding what exactly, don't be shy, we can help you. :)

I think we agree, he's just saying that Israel is doing the lobbying, which it is not, Jewish American's are. He does have his undies in a bundle about it though.

For you gramps, I wouldn't even open the door and that's something I normally do.

You're gonna have to find another neo-con crazy guy like yourself to make you that morning coffee, sorry buddy. ;)

OTB, I did want to ask you someothing on that little scorecard of yours.
Iraq constitution 1 - EU 0

A snippet of the Iraqi constitution...

"We the people of Iraq, newly arisen from our disasters and looking with confidence to the future through a democratic, federal, republican system, are determined — men and women, old and young — to respect the rule of law, reject the policy of aggression, pay attention to women and their rights, the elderly and their cares, the children and their affairs, spread the culture of diversity and defuse terrorism"

Funny how things are in that country now, hmmm?
I mean, that's one powerful working constitution they got there.
Respecting that rule of law, there's no aggression, terrorism is being defused on a daily basis and will be.........for the next 20+ years. :p

But comparing it to the EU?
You sure you're not 90? (senile, whithered, a lil stubborn)
My God man...lol

To me, a constitution is one that works - and I mean, OUTSIDE the heavily fortified (U.S.) green zone. =)

I think George Bush killed more people than Saddam Hussein by going into Iraq, without a legitimate reason.

The reason the US went into Iraq was supposedly because Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, but we all now know that was a lie. Bush wanted to start a war for more personal reasons. The result is that thousands of American soldiers have died as well as Iraqi civilians. Though he broke no law, technically his actions have resulted in deaths that were unwarranted.
Was that that the invasion was based on a deliberate and premeditated pattern of lies. All the people who died as a result are essentially murder victims. Saddam had the authority to order murders at the time, as did Adolph Hitler.
