Good point and I can see it being true. You have to legally change your name, government documents, bank accounts, credit cards, etc. So you start from scratch.A long time ago I heard a 2nd wave feminist speaking about "Credit". Her name was Gloria Steinem I believe.
I could be wrong so.... she claimed that if she got married and change her last name her credit score would drop to zero, and she would have a hard time to buy a car, house or even get a credit card then.
Not sure how credit check it works now but I be curious to know myself.
Then what, you have to live and rely on your husbands credit???? Then you are indebted to him? And that is not controlling? I mean maybe not intentionally but having an unbalance financially in the relationship is not good. And all because he needs her to change her name to feel better….
