I don't believe that convicts have more rights than victims. That's something people say that is not based on fact. Everyone in Canada has the same rights except that convicts lose some rights that the victims retain--like the right to be a free person, etc.

US stats that have been previously posted in past threads about the death penalty show differently, but you keep believing it.people would be more inclined to avoid situations or people that would get them put in harms way. your way wastes money and gives convicts rights they don't deserve. more rights than the victim in fact.
Malaysia has automatic DP for drug dealers, and still they have a drug problem in their societyoh well. it would put a stop to crime or people hanging around people that commit crime. 3rd time you are caught, no trial, just taken straight to the chair. 100% drop off in crime in 10 years when there is a zero tolerance policy

And I think what you are talking about is an accused rights. A convict has appeal rights, but in Ontario they are pretty limited.

I can say that there is funding in place to ensure everyone in Canada eats 3 meals a day. Not everyone takes advantage of it. I can also say this doesn't have anything to do with "rights".convicts eat every day, 3 meals a day. can you say the same for every person in canada ?

Agree 100%.the death penalty is barbaric and the government needs to represent compassionate justice , not violent revenge......otherwise the whole society becomes sick and twisted, and the government offers no moral leadership.
There are also innocent bystanders on Yonge Street and the Eaton Centre as well. Maybe, we can designate an area away from civilization where they can commit their shit.So there isn't a chance that innocent bystanders could be killed in any of these areas?
