I don't believe that convicts have more rights than victims. That's something people say that is not based on fact. Everyone in Canada has the same rights except that convicts lose some rights that the victims retain--like the right to be a free person, etc.

people would be more inclined to avoid situations or people that would get them put in harms way. your way wastes money and gives convicts rights they don't deserve. more rights than the victim in fact.
US stats that have been previously posted in past threads about the death penalty show differently, but you keep believing it.

oh well. it would put a stop to crime or people hanging around people that commit crime. 3rd time you are caught, no trial, just taken straight to the chair. 100% drop off in crime in 10 years when there is a zero tolerance policy
Malaysia has automatic DP for drug dealers, and still they have a drug problem in their society

The comparison between a victim's rights and an accused rights is simply a false one. It is an apples and oranges comparison.

And I think what you are talking about is an accused rights. A convict has appeal rights, but in Ontario they are pretty limited.

convicts eat every day, 3 meals a day. can you say the same for every person in canada ? how about the guy in michigan that couldn't afford his surgery so he went to the store robbed it then sat out front, went to prison got the surgery and spent all his time in the hospital wing then got out on good behavior. is that a system that works.

under my rule, pot is legal. all other drugs are not and if you are caught you get the same treatment as everyone else.

I can say that there is funding in place to ensure everyone in Canada eats 3 meals a day. Not everyone takes advantage of it. I can also say this doesn't have anything to do with "rights".

your still under the belief of a fair and just system and giving people a chance to prove they are innocent. that is not how it works when i take over. i can give you a 100% guarantee that in under a year i have fixed the unemployment issue in canada (i could fix the u.s as well) and within 2 years the homeless issue and in 10 years or less there would be no more crime. i could turn this bitch around and get us back in the positive.

When Rob Ford arrived at the Eaton Centre for the press conference, he was disappointed to discover the food court was closed!

it is a lot more simple than you think. i have a lot of free time for thinking and fixed it all. you may not like how it gets done but you (and everyone) will love the end result.

Welfare. The people who arrive at homeless shelters generally aren't following up on their options due to mental health issues or else they are drinking/snorting/smoking/huffing away the money that was meant for rent and food, or have been cut off from it for doing so previously.

welfare gives a single person 550$ a month. where are you living that, that can give you food, shelter and the other basics of life for a month ? i would love for you to try and live on that for a month.

the death penalty is barbaric and the government needs to represent compassionate justice , not violent revenge......otherwise the whole society becomes sick and twisted, and the government offers no moral leadership.

Get a room mate. Better than living in a homeless shelter.

So there isn't a chance that innocent bystanders could be killed in any of these areas?
There are also innocent bystanders on Yonge Street and the Eaton Centre as well. Maybe, we can designate an area away from civilization where they can commit their shit.
