This is not a sex scene. There is nothing erotic or enticing about it. It is a cinematic display of brutal violence and disgust.
Rape is not an act of sex, it is an act of Violence with forced and unwelcome intercourse involved. This was the director's intention.

Completely agree. I love Monica Bellucci and she never looked better. This was a very difficult scene to watch but is integral to the story. Her real life husband played her bf in the movie.
There's another horrific scene that takes place in a gay sex club where some guy gets his head smashed in (Extremely Graphic) with a fire extinguisher.
Great movie done in a sort of backwards story arsty style but not for all tastes.
This should be in a different category all together like, 'Most Disturbing Scene Ever Filmed' and I would put this at #2 and the head smashing scene at #1.
