Well to be honest and blunt.... That is also a product of my past.I really want to make myself clear on the point I was attempting to make. No matter who you are or what you do, you are more than entitled to your personal opinions. I beleive our past experiences play a hand in making us who we are and play a part in the reasons we make the decisions we do. What I had an "issue" with was the broad statements and perhaps your attitude in your message delivery. I and everyone else can state their opinion and views but I beleive we should attempt to do so with some respect. I am constantly assumed, annoyed, etc by people who feel the need to "attack" others for their opinion and to attempt to make themselves look better, smarter, stronger. MrsCALoki, you are constantly atttack regarding who and what people think you are and I am confused over your lack of smypathy, empathy and understanding in regards to anyone in this business . Considering you have been in the business and have the knowledge you have, I am still at a loss over your "attack" manner.
It does not make you "wrong" in my opinion, it just seems confusing to me.....
With respect,
Kasey
When I am put down I become feisty and loud. And argumentative and often carry it too far.
Examples?
"Mrs is a guy." No evidence, no logic, just a put down. I was told often that I was being 'un-lady like' in school for making the exact same points a guy would have made. It annoys me.
I mentioned we had studs on our tires when we lived in Ontario. A know it all posted that was BS and they were illegal. I suggested he call Canadian Tire in Sudbury or North Bay to check since they had sold them to us. Simon says "I am right so do not need facts"
I mention that Canadians really push the "everyone is equal" idea and site the example of the First Class Security check in at Heathrow. Some know it all pipes in with "that does not exist".
How about the guy sprouting his knowledge of absinthe? For the first few months of my life my play pen was made out of vintage wine cases! I actually know fact from fiction. Even a cursory search of the internet proves his lack of knowledge.
I can list a dozen more examples. WTF do these guys not know how to check facts before they open their mouths?
So yes I get pissed.
And yes I accept the fact that my exposure to the sex trade is biased. Maybe it is canada vs US. Maybe it is that the women in the shelter just represent one sad small section of the industry.
Some facts stick in my head more than others. I still remember the guy from the coroners office telling us that the 5 year death rate for sex workers was higher than for police, firemen, fisherman and US soldiers combined.
But ya US is not Canada. And Internet sex workers might be different that all the others. So maybe I am being one sided.
