I agree with shower, shave, and shampoo too. Ideally a little(!) cologne so you smell nice.
I don't even do all that for my girlfriend. If an SP is visiting, she's gonna need to pay me to do all that, lol.+1

Seeing as I only do incalls, I never have to set the mood.
When I do go to see an SP, I will shower either the night before or the morning of. I will shave beforehand. And I will put on decent clothes. I would put on "nice" clothes, but I have not yet seen an SP who undresses me, so there is no point in my mind in wearing amazing clothes.

I always showered after arriving, whether asked to or not. So during a recent visit I had showered at home 3 hours before, and the SP was eager to see me and said "don't shower". So I skipped it and hoped in bed. During the warm up I noticed a bit of body odor on my part that was making me feel funny so I broke off the LFK and said "Maybe I'll hop in the shower for a minute" and she was very quick with an enthusiastic "OK" lol. I give her credit for not saying anything after we started, but there was a big difference to me between my regular just out of the shower scent and my 3 hours ago shower scent. I didn't think there would be, as with clothes on I had no odor, but there was.

So, your girlfriend already has a sense of your overall hygiene and a certain comfort level with you. The SP does not. If you give the SP good obvious clues that you are clean, she will be more comfortable with you, and you will score better with YMMV aspects of the session.I don't even do all that for my girlfriend. It's not about making a good impression in the, "I am so handsome" sense, it's much more bluntly just a "nice and clean so nothing gross to worry about" issue.
I think shower, smell good, look decent and a beer to get in the mood for yourself and her is a good idea. If it's not fun then what's the point...

Yeah you guys pretty much do what I like to do. One thing noone mentioned was music. I bring a portable bose music box with me, which makes it really easy to set whatever mood I like. I can make a stripping mix if I would like an SP to give me a lap dance...or whatever, you get the idea. I pretty much just use hotels, which is why I found it more important to be on top of setting the proper mood for the event.
