Cruz may be an idiot but how did his criticism of Biden
rejoining the Paris Agreement make him a Fascist? Surely
there must be people other than white supremacist who
have rejected the agreement.
He gave creedence to the lie that Biden cheated and Trump won and he helped incite the capitol thugs ... that is how he behaved like a fascist ( even if he only did it to appease his redneck base).

Are you sure that matters?

If the DA can get solid convictions and adequate sentences from charges that are easy to prove - i.e. restricted area where they just brandish the video footage and the defence immediately collapses and bargains a deal - why would they charge something complicated and time-consuming to prove like sedition?

Then they get the violent assholes with video footage of them assaulting cops and that brings immediate plea deals with long jail terms.

The only issue might be if they want to charge some of the Proud Boys leaders or Ali Alexander w something that relates to organizing. But there are probably offences such as "organizing a riot" or some such that cover it.

History.

The next step up is charging some of the Senators - like Cruz or Hawley - or congress members with sedition. But the DA's going to think long and hard before that jump. Those folks are going to have very sharp lawyers and BIG defence budgets. The difference between crushing hundreds of budgies and hunting a few large and fierce mammoths.

Congress imposes sanctions on it's own members. Censure, removal, lots of intermediate steps to choose from. Local and federal charges for things like gun violations and riot related would be on top of that. Love to see one of these assholes booted out and then have to stay in town to put in community service time....

"white supremacist" now joins the list of abused and overused words that no longer have any weight like 'rape' and 'Nazi'.
Spoken like a true white supremacist. And, no, you don't have to actually have white skin to be a white supremacist. Since when to the terms "rape" and "Nazi"no longer have any weight? When they pertain to inconvenient facts?

Do you watch TV. It was clearly an attempt. But it failed. An attempt, even if unsuccessful, is still a crime.
No I do not watch tv haven't had mine on for years. there is absolutely no proof it was planed attempted coup as of yet that may change but I still think it was just a crowd that easily overwhelmed the low police presence went inside and didn't have a real plan to do anything.

I actually agree...I don't think they had a plan where they thought they would seize government but I do think it's fair to say it was an insurrection where a violent revolution against government was planned and acted on, they came ready to fight and were egged on at the rally.

Just because they were stupid enough to try without the army does not mean that they did not try. Stupidity is not a defense.
You can call it that but not a coup...you can say rebellion...but I doubt that will hold...It's not like Antifa didn't try that during Trumps tenure...

Your problem is the rioters chanting "1776" and "hang Pence". That shows that the grunts at least thought that they were overthrowing the government. Whether Trump, Cruz and Hawley thought the same is debatable; but they certainly felt that they could use the riot to pressure the deputies to defer the chamber proceedings or perhaps the Dems would flee the Chamber allowing the pro Trump GOP to overthrow the election results. Far fetched?....... But are we dealing with a smart ex POTUS??? Err, no.....
And Cruz and Hawley were just sort of rolling the dice for shits, giggles and photo ops and were game pretty much for anything.

So either way, you get a "coup" of some sort.

When you have that kind of volatility, weird can happen. The French Revolution happened when the people's deputies got kicked out of parliament, met in a tennis court and gave uppity speeches to one another til a huge mob formed and stormed the king's palace and captured the royal family.

That analysis is born out by examples like this:

Where buddy is arrested and said he was taking the capitol back by force but he's charged with lesser crimes that will be easy to prove.

It can be called a coup, Trump ordered his mob to storm congress and suggested they should take Pence to stop him counting EC votes in order to keep him in power.
It was a really stupid and inept coup, but still a coup attempt.

Last I heard there was a technical term for rebellion against the US Govt. - treason...

Rogen is, of course, wrong. But it's "mission accomplished" for him. He actually got the attention of Cruz, which I'm sure in Rogen's circle will make him a real player in politics. Delusion built on delusion. Maybe he and Borat can run for Congress in 2022! Are either one of them eligible?

Cruz would have been smarter to just quietly report the post to Twitter and then block Rogen with some pro forma notification.

Couldn't do any worse than Trump. I think anyone from Hollywood can do a better job than Trump.

Let's make a short list to illustrate the absurdity of your statement:

1. Mel Gibson
2. Kevin Spacey
3. Gary Busey
4. Lindsay Lohan
