Cruz may be an idiot but how did his criticism of Biden
rejoining the Paris Agreement make him a Fascist? Surely
there must be people other than white supremacist who
have rejected the agreement.

The others who rejected the Paris $Accord did not encourage fascists to storm the Capitol.

It was his support of Trump's coup that made him a fascist.
Not criticism of Biden.

Fuck the lefties and their "accusations" The sheer repetition of their idiotic name calling of anyone they disagree with is now so common, it has became a cliche, a Pavlovian response.

once again no coup have any charges been laid saying coup?

you cannot overthrow a government without the army
Just because they were stupid enough to try without the army does not mean that they did not try. Stupidity is not a defense.

Agreed.

Ted is a bright guy who sold his soul out long ago for photo ops, appearances on Fox and Limbaugh and the others and general posturing, lying and invective and general shit-posting to raise his own corrupt public profile in the hope that at some point he'd be made the GOP presidential nominee.

He turns the stomach of any astute viewer. But he's not a white supremacist. Yet.

If he can somehow use becoming a white supremacist to garner a few thousand more likes on Twitter and a few more appearances on Fox sometime in the future, I wouldn't rule it out though. That said, he'd be a black supremacist, brown supremacist or mauve supremacist if he thought it would help him politically.

No proof a coup was attempted a quick search shows no charges that would show there was proof.
has anyone been charged?

Well, the charges and investigations haven't ended and there's at least one impeachment which alleges that the march and storming were intentionally per planned.

So you may want to hold off for say 6 months before you assume no coup attempt. The morons who stormed the Capitol were screaming "1776!" and other shit and that was code for overthrowing the government. The only issue is whether anyone with half a brain and a clean shirt was also aiming to overthrow Congress or at least interfere with the election results.

I agree but then the same has to apply with not calling it a coup

He and Hawley are both gunning to get a solid part of Trump's insurrectionist/white nationalist base.
I don't think either will succeed, but Cruz is happy to do it if he thinks he has a shot.

Not how that works. You can always file a superseding indictment later as you have more evidence. Get them for the many crimes you already have them dead to rights on.

Besides, there is no "coup" in US law if I remember. They will never be charged with one because there is no legal definition.

Will you accept charges of sedition, insurrection, or treason?
(Of the three, I am betting on sedition as what they will be charged with.)

You'd need to analyze why Trump pulled in so much of that crowd. Trump will be whatever allows him to grift the most. He's not a committed racist. He hates poor people of whatever colour and loves the important rich people.

I'm trying to understand it, espec in relation to QAnon. This is what I come up with:

1. Trump is from outside DC and therefore cannot be "the Deep State".
2. Trump was famous and supposedly important before he entered politics.
3. Trump launched his political career by attacking HRC, who was herself the target of many utopian violent conspiracy theories. So Trump fitted the bill as a "hero figure".
4. Trump doubled down on that by claiming to "drain the swamp". Again this made him a good hero figure for the QAnon crowd.

That's all I could really figure out. The man himself is a lazy-ass, incompetent griftoid who gives no shit about anyone who doesn't make a $billion per year, has no political ideology or principles or even views, is dumb as a fire hydrant and is too fuckwitted to work more than a couple of hours a day. OTOH he's crude, cartoonish, colouful and accessible to the village idiot class. And that helped bigly.

I'm not seeing career DC pols and legal weasels like Cruz or even the younger, better looking Hawley pulling that off.

You want an heir apparent for Trump?... I'm thinking Mike Flynn. Army general. Aquiline profile. Complete lying grifting asswipe. If Flynny could learn the lines and jig along to Macho Man, you might have a fuhrer.
