In this matter I completely agree with fuji.

I totally respect a woman's right to screen.

I expect a woman to respect my right to not participate in screening.

If that means we can't come together then that is okay, no hard feelings. I will never insult a woman for wanting to screen so why insult me for not playing along.

The notion that a guy who is not interested in the screening process is a douchebag or is hiding something is totally off base.

Ridge, I have always had a lot of respect for you on the board but if you think that handle/phone #/email has never caused an issue in this world before then you haven't been paying attention.

For me it is simple, I CHOOSE not to participate in screening. To be called a douchebag for that is just ridiculous.

Fuji WTF are you doing on this board then ????? With your type of paranoia, I would stay way the hell away from this place.
Nah, I haven't posted anything here that would enable someone to identify me. I feel fairly comfortable with my level of privacy.

I certainly don't judge you for publishing your identity far and wide and presumably you are ok with those risks, but that's you. Don't tell other people what level of privacy is ok for them.

Ridge asked/implied a question. I answered it. What people have to hide is their identity.

Actually, you implied that by giving an SP, an anonymous "Hobby" handle, (many of us use the same handle for multiple boards throughout this "hobby"), a similarly anonymous e-mail, and hobby phone #, that you are giving away your true identity.

I called BS on that, and you have yet to answer that question.

I have a hobby "persona", while, it closely resembles my true personality, it is mutually exclusive to my true identity. The handle is made up, the e-mail address is also, and phone # is protected.

Screening is not an issue, if you take the necessary steps to protect your true identity.

You should never feel awkward about asking men if they have seen any other providers. This is apart of the job and apart of what gents should be expecting from a provider who runs her business responsibly. I have had a similar issue with gents not wanting to provide any information and I understand they worry about privacy, but really it's safety first for both the provider and client. Clients really should expect to give some kind of information and reference from another provider. I give references all the time and I am happy to do so to keep this business safe for everyone.

However, I have had situations where clients were super reluctant to give out any information, so I met them for coffee or a drink first to get a good rapport.
I have no issues with providing references, the sps I've seen are just a few and a couple of them multiple times. I do take issue though with sps whom I've provided references to (twice) but never hear back from them, not even a courtesy reply to let me know what is happening. This gives me an uncomfortable feeling about the reliability of the sp I was so looking forward to see - to the extent that I lose interest in her.

I'm just throwing an idea out ... I have no clues what the situation was... but maybe she didn't like what the reference had to say. Or maybe your reference didn't respond to her. Both those things have happened to me.
Yes, maybe your right, but to leave someone hanging, is not right either, I know for a fact you wouldn't do that.

It's hard to tell someone why you choose not to see them because you're not sure how they're going to react.
Will they get angry, or beg to be allowed? Or demand an explanation? Or fully respect your decision? The latter is unlikely if he's getting a bad recommendation.

Yea, I know that, many guys wouldn't accept it, rejection is a harsh statement sometimes.
Men have to own up to it and accept it. My thoughts are, at least I'll know, I won't have to contact her again.
After all when one door closes another one opens, especially in this business. :D

Took the words right out of my mouth. I am positive I made a good impression with the sps I visit, it could be that they are now retired, however, at least let us know - even if it is "NO", we're big enough to take that and will move on. Generally, I need to book a couple of weeks in advance so it is really appreciated when each party respects each others time.

I guess it depends on how much info the sp wants. I wouldn't even be comfortable about giving my terb handle (even though I would only see 1 or 2 who advertises on terb). I really want to protect my identity as much as possible... im not even someone important in any way, but thats just how I am. That being said, there was a time I was in NY and the sp wanted a reference. So I texted an sp I see on a usual basis and asked her to text the sp in NY and vouch for me. Obviously a random number saying im trust worthy and a good client means nothing, but since its the same number from ads that existed since 2012 ( it was 2013 at the time) the sp in NY was satisfied and gave me the green light.

All that said. I welcome the screening, but I would just stick to escorts who dont ask for them.

That is not quite what I said. I said if you give someone a consistent id, like a terb handle or a long term phone number, then they can start sharing information and correlating what they know about you from multiple sources (most obviously you posting history if you give a terb id) greatly increasing the odds that your true identity will eventually be discovered.

Also when that information is NOT linked, if a single SP you visit does learn your real identity (peeks at your wallet? You drop something?) the damage is contained as she has no way to share that discovery with others.

But I ALSO said:

Unless you are a complete idiot, a terb handle is 100% anonymous, as are an e-mail address and a cell phone number. If you don't know how to do such things, you should not be hobbying in the first place.
So if a hobbyist is not smart enough to protect his true identity, then I guess he has bigger issues than trying to skirt the screening process of an SP he wishes to see. (Several times over the last few years, I've had to tell people that make "supposedly" anonymous e-mail addresses through hotmail, gmail etc, they they were stupid enough to still use their real name when signing up, and that real name is very easily accessible, so I guess there ARE those people out there... LoL)

Some of you guys are taking this WAY too seriously! LoL If you think an SP will go through the trouble of "sharing information and correlating what they know about you from multiple sources" in order to discover the true identity of their clients.

Sheeesh! They just want to confirm you are sincere, not a time waster or flaker, and that you aren't a douchebag.

Good grief you people must think all sex workers are fucking morons.
Please do not include me with "you people". Over the past year I have seen very educated, smart sps who can engage in intelligent conversations. So no, I don't think ALL sex workers are fucking morons, far from it.

ummm... lmfao.... where did I refer to YOU? I'm not sure how YOU fit into all this, I didn't mention YOU, I didn't quote YOU....

I quoted big104u.... and I was referring to him (and wait for it) who assumed I'm passing out my confidential client info to just anyone who asks for it. That would be rather moronic and I resent that suggestion.
Sorry J, there's probably a miscommunication. At no time did I think you were referring to me; when you wrote "you people", I assumed you were referring to ops in general. I am aware you quoted big104u. Just wanted to make it clear that I differentiate myself from those ops who do not appreciate the service and intelligence of sps. Have a great day!

Some people screen, some don't.

Some people have no problem with being screened, some do.

Some people provide references, some don't.

People still get laid and paid.

Is that about the jist of this thread?

LOL good one! Yes it is. Now would you mind also summarizing succinctly all the other thousands of threads on TERB for us? :)

Thank God ! :D
Not for you. YOU I will stalk around this board all weekend until the wee hours of the night when my eyes are barely open. I will compile all posts I can, bombard TERB with them on Monday, and shut the whole place down for at least 30 seconds with a bandwidth delay.

Oh ya! I am that evil! You better watch and fear my wrath! ;)
