Since wrestling isn't a sport I decided to post a mini ESPN documentary about wrestler Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon in the lounge. Some people might find it interesting?

Interesting story, its sad to see Scott that way, after following him in the 90s. TMZ just did a story last week saying that the relationship between Scott and his son Cody only lasted a month after filming this. Thye are no longer speaking, and Cody has quit his dreams of following in his dads footsteps to become a wrestler.

Scott Hall had a reputation of being a Grade A asshole during his"Heyday" in the 80's and 90's.You'll see alot of guys saying"poor guy' now but if so inclined, do a bit of googling and you'll find some not so nice things said about him.

One thing that did stand out was how the promoter was this evil piece of shit for putting Scott out there.......who do you think he learned that"the show must go on" and cutthroat attitude from? Vincent Kennedy mcMahon.People care about Scott Hall because he fell so far...not because of who he was.

he is on the long list of guys that fell to wrestling. jake roberts had it all and blew up real hard, harder than scott hall to be honest. there is a movie out there about jake, i forget the name. his career only lasted a few years. it's an addicting life style and hard to give up. he had it all and couldn't hold onto it.

I think you are referring to Beyond the Mat.

Yeah, it's sad. Out of the Kliq, The ones that stuck with the WWE turned out most "ok" meaning HHH and HBK. Hunter had it easier being part of the family now, and HBK was touch and go for a bit but has really done well for himself in the past decade or so. Never heard much about Nash having issues but by comparison he was one "the guy" for a short while. Waltman has battled over the years and to be honest I haven't followed him in awhile, but in the video he actually looks quite well. Hall and HBK were probably the two that lived there alter-ego the most and HBK was "lucky" to escape that life relatively unscathed. I've read a few of those wrestler biographies, and yeah, there is no denying that it is a very tough lifestyle especially back in the days. But we are all given the ability to choose how we live our lives, and HBK chose to battle and defeat and demons, and Hall wasn't able to...and you see the end results. Bishoff probably summed it up best. Wrestling is not killing Scott Hall. Scott Hall is killing Scott Hall.

HBK turned to jesus and is incredibly religious now. sting started a wrestling organization a while ago that didn't last long, no sexy story lines, no adult content or anything that makes people want to tune in and he only had wrestlers that had found god. Nash strikes me as the kinda guy that can party but can also control the party when he needs to and shut it down as required. it's all a matter of personal will and ability to control your shit. sean waltman is doing okay now but he has pretty well ruined his rep around the industry from what i have heard and read, he may get another chance but i think he is down to just independent circuit shit. the clearest example ofa guy fucking up right now is jeff hardy, he put it out there so many nights, he was taking the pain killers just to get by, then became addicted. no he is basically a junkie, fired off TNA and WWE twice each or more for his abuse issues. he is close to losing everything as well.

then you got guys like terry funk whose body is ruined and he is beat down hard to the point he can hardly walk and he is not addicted and runs a reasonably successful ranch and is having a good retirement. you don't often hear about retirement from these guys though, most times they are found dead of unknown causes in a hotel room.

Yup, Jeff Hardy is another one that makes you shake your head. After being a mid-card draw for years (as a singles wrestler) WWE finally gave him the push and made him champ. Was probably doing the best he has ever did career wise, then he falls off the wagon. I understand that he puts it on the line when he wrestles, in comparison they've "scaled back" a lot of his high flyer stuff simply for the reason that they want to scale back the number of big bumps he needs to take. But you're right, it's all about personal will and choice. For the longest time, one can argue that Mick Foley took more big bumps than anyone else in the biz. Yeah, I'm sure he has days that he can barely walk, but overall he has done quite well for himself as well.

A lot of it is also how guys are managing their finances. It's sad to see guys like Hogan and Flair getting in the ring still just because they weren't good with their finances. I swear every time I see Flair in the ring nowadays, a bit of his legacy goes along with it...

Thank you for the link.

I stopped following wrestling a long time ago. I thought Scott Hall was already dead.

I have seen video and read articles about his life in the past. This is the most interesting so far.

It seems late in life for him to get his crap together. Maybe in can at least put things right before he passes.

Tragic but unfortunately I think it is how a large portion of the wrestler's end up today. Chris Benoit was another great wrestler who ended up killing his wife and son and then killed himself.

hogan was fine and was set to retire about 15-20 years ago when linda bought another house that he needed to work to pay off. he said that he wasn't gonna hit his savings to pay for the house so he kept working. paid off all the shit she bought, then as he was about to retire, divorce and his kid fucking that other kid up in the wreck cleaned him out and whatever was left brooke used to try and become a singer. he is back in the + side of his bank statement now. flair is another story altogether though, that dude is a fuck up. foley and few others just did the right thing at the right time, handed the paycheck to the wife and let her save. doesn't always work though, like in hogans case. need a good woman at home to get the retirement ready. foley is gonna have a hard retirement though the way he beat his body down.

Might have been some of that or it could have been a combination uppers/downers/pain killer and brain damage from multiple concussions.

he was on steroids. he was also not right in the head. he was angry with his wife for his son needing growth hormones and angry with his keep for the same reason. he was just dropped from the main event status on wwe and bumped down to ecw section of the organization. he was on his way out and he saw it coming. he blew up and took it out on his wife and kid. he was not stable.

Thanks for that insight/speculation, but that "explanation" alone is not fair or entirely true and does not bear out to facts. It's certainly not the whole story.

Chris Benoit suffered from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) - massive brain damage from multiple concussions. His brain was likened to that of an 80-year old Alzheimer's patient.

CTE is the same condition that many former NFL players, plus Bob Probert, Reg Fleming and many others suffered from and caused them to take their own lives or die prematurely.

Didn't answer my questions.
Last I saw him he was fairly lucid, but you could tell he still had some residual after-effects of the stroke.

Without knowing his persoanl affairs, it appears that he is okay financially - he was always on the somewhat frugal side. But he has divorced at least twice, so that will take a chunk of his cash.
