Mind you, in some records she wouldn't be considered a mass shooter because not enough people died.
There's very little difference between your and my media. It's the way you consume that counts.
Whenever a shooting happens it is the conservative media that engage, more or less, in the following logic:
- This is not the time to be talking about gun laws.
- We need to be sending our thoughts and prayers to the victims families.
- Gun laws do not stop gun violence. Only the good guys will abide and the bad guys will always find ways to kill.
- This is not a gun issue. Guns dont kill people. People kill people. We need more mental health support. (While simultaneously working against healthcare access for everyone, let alone mental health help).
Rinse and repeat.
Gun control is necessary.
Why would "lefty media" need to spin that?
As more people identify as trans, we are going to have more shooters who are trans if we keep with these rates of shootings.
That's just math.
Considering the shooting at the girl scouts center yesterday never even made the national news, it would normally not be very long for the shooting to fade.
If it turns out the shooter was indeed, trans, though, this won't go out of the news for a year, maybe two.
It won't be there all the time, but it will be brought up endlessly to point out how dangerous trans people are. (Or how trans-affirming care drives people to violence, or whatever spin needed to push the narrative of the day.)

I'm thinking either she was bullied because she was trans or at a Christian school she was either told God will not accept you or hates you for being trans but to do it more than 10 years later is rare. Maybe she had a lot of built up trauma and just lost it

She probably had to put up with a lot of bullying and trauma by being a student at a Christian school if they knew she was trans. That doesn't excuse what she did but that could be her motive. The right will politicize this just like the left does when its a young white male. That's the world will live in

I think the media needs another decision tree for Trans - although I suspect "white" over-rides everything - people. I mean you can't be more inclusive than murdering a bunch of people in the US with a gun & then being excused for it because...muh trauma.

First day of a shooting or any other media violence event tends to have a lot of noise compared to signal.
Things should settle down soon enough.
