I love the Big Mac, but it is very expensive, about six bucks including tax.

Today I tried a "hack" that is relatively unknown. The original hack calls for a McDouble, but I've modified it.

If you like cheese, then order the double cheesburger . If you don't really care for it, order a double hamburger.

Delete: Ketchup/mustard
Add: Lettuce, onions, Big Mac Sauce.

The result? Tastes very much like a Big Mac, but I actually prefer the hacked version. It's much more compact, like a regular hamburger, and easier to eat.

I tried it today, and it was delicious.

In the states, I think you can get the double burger for $1, so that's a great deal!

Thanks for the laugh, I needed that tonight, fing brilliant until they loogie in your hackie!!! I wonder if you can do this at burger king. I always make the mistake and order a big mac instead of a whopper anyways. My ATF MPA used to love McDonalds and she would say it comforts her. Now each time I have nostalgia I hear the big Mac calling. Actually, it's my fave place to hit up after a rub and tug...thanks for the tips, sometimes you can't help but mess with them bit :clap2:

... speechless
Of course your "brilliant" idea costs less and is more compact
You are ordering less meat (and less calories, carbs, protein etc)

Hey I have a better hack
If you think it's so expensive next time order a plain bun and ask to put the special sauce on
It will also taste the same and probably cost less

I also have a huge beef (pun) with people who insist on calling everything a "hack" these days

I find this funny because I have visions of the poor counter clerk trying to understand then process this order.
They seem to have a real problem with anything that's even slightly different than their standard offerings.
Most of them even have a hard time with a verbal exchange that doesn't follow their script.

Don't get me wrong, some of the young folks who work there are courteous and bright.
Others, not so much.

Most locations now have a kiosk with a touch screen you can place your order at and pay. It will print out a receipt with a order number on it. Once your order is ready they will call out your number and you pick up your food.

Why don't they just allow they use of an app in addition to the kiosk...wouldn't this make more sense? Is there an app?

Not sure if there is an app. But if there is not, I'm sure it wont be long before it is available.

This was a lifesaver in Europe when all I wanted was a double cheeseburger combo...but didn't speak the language in any of the countries I visited. Those kiosks have pictures and everything. Brilliant! :)
