More people voted against the Liberals in the last provincial election than for them, yet they formed the government. How is that democratic?

Hell, the NDP earned 15 percent of the vote and they can't get offical party status because they didn't win enough seats.

Face it Bush won.
Get over it and spend more time teaching Floridians how to punch a fucking hole in a card. .
Testy testy. I must say, however, my comment had nothing to do with the Florida count. Wasn't it you who suggested that i keep to the topic at hand? Thought so.

Well, you have to admit, it isn't every day where a so called leader runs to the Supreme Court to get a vote count stopped.

As much as i detest that little pipsqueak we got in the white house, i'm glad Al Gore didn't win that way. Good God, how horrible it would be having to listen to you conservatives go on about it for 8 years. Whitewater and blow jobs were bad enough listening to you clowns. I can only imagine the level to which you would have taken this one.

Homonger, before you start to criticize our Presidential election process, perhaps you should educate yourself on how it works. The only thing worse than a know-it-all is an ignorant know-it-all.

GWB was elected by the same method as every one of his predecessors. The Electoral College (no, it is not an actual college, so dont think you can visit it) is based on popular votes by state..... not in sum total for the nation.... and although Gore accumulated the most popular votes, he (and everyone except a few whiny liberals) knew in advance that he needed to accumulate the most Electoral votes.

Stick to things you know something about....
Listen smart ass, I know damn well how the election process in the US works, and I have a degree in an American history to prove it. I also know that only once in US history has there been a president who did not win the popular vote but did win the electoral vote, so the fact that Gore did win the popular vote should have been enough to win just about any election. I also know that there is no provision in the Constitution to account for an flawed voting system in an ass-backwards state, so the Supreme Court did the best with what they had. I don't begrudge their decision, but I hardly think that means Bush was the winner of the 2000 election, which is what I said. There was really nothing in my post which indicated I didn't understand the electoral college.

I'll stick with what I know about if you do me a favor and just shut the fuck up.

Must you make everything into a liberal's this and a conservative's that? It's so high school. If you're so damn conservative get the hell off an escort board. Don't you know sex outside of marriage and not for procreation is a sin?
Conservatism and religion is not mutually exclusive.

I'm an atheist and I lean to the right.

You are right and the facts are as follows
Sadam has been captured. Many are stil his supporters. And his supporters are scattered all over the world.

George Bush is President.
Al Gore is not.

I can't believe that you're blaming the government for the fact your net worth was 2.5 times more in 2000 than it is today. Thats nobody's fault but your own. Real estate's up, the stock market's up and you seemingly spend huge sums of money on escorts...but thats the governments fault too I suppose. This childish banter about how the election outcome was somehow the fault of Florida's counting system is 3 year old news...the fact is George Bush is the President ...period.
Very fair statement, lickman, but the reality of election psychology is that most voters think about their personal situations and do believe it is the government's fault if it has not improved. As far as the escorts go, I spend as much on them in 2000 as I do today, so that is a non-factor. But could I have been smarter with my money? Sure.

And you are also right about how idiotic it is to discuss a topic that happened 3 years ago. I usually loathe such discussions here. But it just really annoyed me to see someone once again bring up Clinton and his wandering dick. Talk about old news.
