In the event of Russian invasion of Canada Russia will have to have conquered Ukraine and Northern Europe first before they move on to Canada. I am afraid it would more likely
be Ukrainian troops fighting alongside Russia invaders I would be coerced into cheering for as the liberators. Assuming Zelensky had not ended in the same fate of Mussolini
and was leading the Ukrainian troops I can imagine how I would be forced
to cheer him wearing a simple green T-shirt.

Seriously, building up defense for national security is more of an insurance
than preparation for defence against impending invasion. You don't have to
expect Putin to become vengeful on account of Trudeau's aid to Zelensky to
support more military spending.
