Just my two cents, no I'm not a Trudeau fan but I do like the way he is handling the pandemic overall. As some one here who has been through the emotional wreck of a divorce especially with young kids, how about a bit of sympathy for the man. It is a really hard thing for all. Yes he has fucked up as PM but as guys who have been through this, cut him some slack on that. Why so vindictive? I kinda hope it is just a rumour. Man has enough on his plate atm.
Harrington Lake is in Gatineau National Park, it's Canada's version of Camp David. The official summer residence of the Prime Minister. The land between Harrington Lake and Meech Lake further down is Federal land used to host dignitaries and plan strategy. Both locations are heavily protected. Trudeau's only major mistake is to take President Obama's advice to heart, be a good will ambassador. Some have ridiculed Trudeau for his photo op trip to India - but he didn't back down when challenged by Hindu Nationalist. Then Shiva Scheer went there and kissed Modi's ass, his haters seem to ignore that. Considering what's been happening in India lately, who was in the right?

He is working and they are staying away for safety. It makes sense. Let the wife keep the kids cared for and safe at the cottage and let man stay in Ottawa to work. I know many who have wanted to do that. Some who are still deciding because of the requests for cottagers to stay home and one family who has done it. He is a frontline worker and just does not want to risk his family.
Many, as we have heard on the news, have sent their kids away because they are frontline workers. They are not abandoning their kids.
So people criticize Trudeau for his great hair, because he is too handsome, because his style gets attention....man. How sad. I am not saying he is the best leader, but to me he is clearly the least bad choice among the alteratives presented and at least he tries to strike a balanced policy.
If you don't know, then you're not a real Canadian and it's useless to even try explaining. Canada in the future may well split in two. Why do you think Liberals didn't win any seats in the western provinces?

opcorn:I don't know how this political thread has avoided deletion. When I put up a thread on Trudeau last week or the week before - it was automatically deleted. Not moved to the politics section. I later found the MOD notice that this will happen to all political threads in the Lounge.

Um, how is Sophie going to keep the kids safe when she had COVID and JT has not had it? Wouldn't it make more sense for the kids to stay with daddy at 24 Sussex Drive, and mommy can go to the cottage alone?
They've always had tough sledding in the West, since the 70's at least. That isn't an issue JT's created.
