That call was Don Denkinger like.It really wasn't close. Even if it was close, you'd figure the umpire would give the pitcher the benefit of the doubt for the sake of doing something remarkable. Actually, it would have been historical as it would have been the first time there were 3 perfect games in a season. The last time there were even two was 1880 and this idiot, egotistical umpire totally blows it. Sort of like the umpire robbing the Jays of the only triple play in World Series history.
There have been a lot of bad calls this year.
It does devalue tickets of people who actually went to the game though.Back to the Halladay game.
The Marlins are now selling the tickets from his perfect game, that went unsold, at face value!
I think this is brilliant marketing for a team that struggles to sell tickets all year. Great idea IMO.
