I went to a Rogers store to drop off my modem last week, they wouldn't let me in unless i stared into the camera and showed my drivers license. I understand crime is bad, but wtf is that? Are they even allowed to do that?

Welcome to the new Canada. I don't condone crime but people are desperate as fuck at this point. Essentially every financial crime has increased significantly in the last 5 years and it's about to get worse. People have mouths to feed or Versace to buy and their going to figure out a way even if it's an illegal one.
