Did Rogers mess things up themselves? I don’t know what actually happened at this time.

Do you have any evidence they were hacked with ransomware??
I have just as much evidence as tucker, Bill and the rest of the good Ole boys at fix "news". It seems unlikely that given the vastness of completely unrelated services that this was a hack. It's not like someone spilled coffee on their keyboard and wiped out the internet cellphone and banking for the most pillaged area of the country. The likelihood it was not planned is the same likelihood that two planes smash into thr world trade center on the same morning. If say Russia wanted to relative for Canada holding up the part they need for their pipeline where do you think they would hit? Shut down Trudeaus twitter account ? They would hit the biggest companies in the country and have people worried. Rogers is probably adding another 0 to the crypto they are sending every hour

Rogers internet had a mass shut down for over 12 hrs a couple of years ago because of a modem update. And some modems couldn’t even access the patch they finally sent out later. So sometimes it is as easy as a wrong piece of coding in an update to the system that was not properly beta tested.

The passport office is offline now too.
No new passports can be issued until the Rogers issue is fixed

OMG, seriously ? They take down the grind during peak hours ?
I guess working at night costs too much overtime money.
Digs into corporate profits and executive bonuses.

Oh I should have clarified that it started in the middle of the night and ended sometime before dinner time.

Mine didn’t come back and I needed to exchange my modem so it was the tech guy who told me. Rogers bumped my data plan so I could hotspot off my phone to gain internet use.

I personally like Rogers. I mean since I had to pick one, Rogers has treated me the best.

Surprised there weren't a bunch of major thefts today. I heard the cops were having problems with their own communication devices this morning.

Thought of robbing a few banks for a split-second but then I went back to sleep. 😜

Technology is great, the internet is a miracle, but everything breaks from time to time. Hence, my work set up is Roger's(it was a quiet day, lol!), my personal is Bell, I always have $1k in cash in my pocket, two weeks of emergency food and water and a generator, just in case. Anyway, we can exist without internet for a day...can't we? ROTFLMFAO!!

Any systems update should have a backout plan. A coding fix shouldn't take more than an hour to backout. Rogers should be ashamed of themselves.
