In my little world, I am more important than all of them. From my vantage point - if I don't exist - neither do they.

The Wall has aged badly, apart from the Another Brick in the Wall Medley, it's painfully boring. Ozzy Osbourne is more important than Roger Waters.

Have to agree. Any time I hear Pink Floyd come on the radio I change stations. Especially, The Wall. I do find them boring. Though at the time they were good. Not putting them down. Just not my cup of tea. Depressing actually. Drake and the Weekend don't seem to be on the radio. At least not the 4 FM stations I switch between while driving.
Any time I hear Ozzy, Crazy Train being the most commonly played, I crank the volume UP!

A fart is more important than the Weekend and Drake combined.
Based on the way a really good fart makes me feel as it exits my body, I'd say a fart is of far far greater importance to me than Drake or the Weekend :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, The Wall is hit or miss, unlike Dark Side of the Moon or Wish you Were Here.
Saw Ozzy once in the early eighties. At the time, I was hoping to hear Sabbath tunes. Ended up with 4th row floors at Maple Leaf Gardens.

I was too young to see Prime Black Sabbath live, the first time I saw them was with Dio. It wasn't until the 98 Tour that Ozzy finally hooked with his old mates. Momentous event, it was the only time I saw them with Bill Ward.

Pink Floyd were always a stoner band, that gets old after awhile.

They're all important and different. Waters has always been a big mouth, I never liked him.

Like the Stones.... at the Sars concert in Toronto, AC/DC spanked the shit out of them. Times have changed bands can't reproduce a lot of their successes.

Some bands are really lousy live. I never saw Led Zeppelin live, but for the most part the live concert footage I see on the internet is crap.
I mean, stick to your studio sound if you can't pull off a Deep Purple Made in Japan.
Having said that, perhaps some types of songs may be hard to replicate live.

More important to who, and based off what exactly? Lol .... Don't the streaming, billboard, and tour numbers speak for themselves...?

Then, for reasons unknown other than he was in Toronto, Waters also took aim at the city’s native superstar Drake.

“By the way, with all due respect to the Weeknd or Drake or any of them, I am far, far, far more important than any of them will ever be, however many billions of streams they’ve got,” Waters said. “There is stuff going on here that is fundamentally important to all of our lives.”

It is unclear by which metric Waters measures importance

Even the person writing this article can't help but joke about the insanity of this senior citizen is lol

One of the many things I loved about RUSH was their tendancy to play songs live as close as possible to the studio version.

I agree, some bands suck live. Deep Purple for one was very good. Bob Seger was great live so were the Who.

I've been to probably more than 500 concerts and the #1 best live performer was Springsteen.

"Perfect Sense, Part I"

The monkey sat on a pile of stones
And he stared at the broken bone in his hand
And the strains Viennese quartet
Rang out across the land
The monkey looked up at the stars
And he thought to himself
Memory is a stranger
History is for fools
And he cleaned his hands
In a pool of holy writing
Turned his back on the garden
And set out for the nearest town

Hold on hold on soldier

When you add it all up
The tears and marrowbone
There's an ounce of gold
And an ounce of pride in each ledger
And the Germans killed the Jews
And the Jews killed the Arabs
And Arabs killed the hostages
And that is the news
And is it any wonder
That the monkey's confused
He said Mama Mama
The President's a fool
Why do I have to keep reading
These technical manuals
And the joint chiefs of staff
And the brokers on Wall Street said
Don't make us laugh
You're smart kid
Time is linear
Memory's a stranger
History's for fools
Man is a tool in the hands
Of the great God Almighty
And they gave him command
Of a nuclear submarine
And sent him back in search of
The Garden of Eden

"Perfect Sense, Part II"

Can't you see
It all makes perfect sense
Expressed in dollars and cents
Pounds shillings and pence
Can't you see
It all makes perfect sense

Little black soul departs in perfect focus
Prime time fodder for the News at Nine
Darling is the child warm in the bed tonight

Hi everybody I'm Marv Albert
And welcome to our telecast
Coming to you live from Memorial Stadium
It's a beautiful day
And today we except a sensational matchup
Bur first our global anthem

Can't you see
It all makes perfect sense
Expressed in dollars and cents
Pounds shillings and pence
Can't you see
It all makes perfect sense

And here come the players
As I speak to you now the captain
Has he cross hairs zeroed on the oil rig
It looks to me like he's going to attack
By the way did you know that a submarine
Captain earns 200,000 dollars a year
Oh that's less tax Marv less tax
Uh thank you Emery you're welcome
Now back to the game he fires one yes
There goes two both fish are running
The rig is going into a prevent defense
Will they make it I don't think so

Can't you see
It all makes perfect sense
Expressed in dollars and cents
Pounds shillings and pence
Can't you see
It all makes perfect sense

"It's A Miracle"

Miraculous you call it babe
You ain't seen nothing yet
They've got Pepsi in the Andes
Mcdonalds in Tibet
Yosemite's been turned into
A golf course for the Japs
The Dead Sea is alive with rap
Between the Tigris and Euphrates
There's a leisure centre now
They've got all kinds of sports
They've got Bermuda shorts

The had sex in Pennsylvania
A Brazilian grew a tree
A doctor in Manhattan
Saved a dying man for free
It's a miracle
Another miracle

By the grace of God Almighty
And pressures of marketplace
The human race has civilized itself
It's a miracle

We've got a warehouse of butter
We've got oceans of wine
We've got famine when we need it
Got a designer crime
We've got Mercedes
We've got Porsche
Ferrari and Rolls Royce
We've got a choice

She said meet me
In the Garden of Gethsemane my dear
The Lord said Peter I can see
Your house from here
An honest man
Finally reaped what he had sown
And farmer in Ohio has just repaid a loan
It's a miracle
Another miracle

By the grace of God Almighty
And pressures of marketplace
The human race has civilized itself
It's a miracle

We cower in our shelters
With our hands over our ears
Lloyd-Webber's awful stuff
Runs for years and years and years
An earthquake hits the theatre
But the operetta lingers
Then the piano lids comes down
And break his fucking fingers
It's a miracle

And this level of Ego is why Pink Floyd split up in the 80s.
Just ask David Gilmour how important Roger Waters believes himself to be.
I enjoy his work… but agree, he must be insufferable to be around him for any length of time.

Ozzy treated his musicians like shit. He hired guys and Jake E Lee, and Roades…. They wrote his albums, and him and Sharon kept the royalties.

The last album Jake wrote for him, He got fired and had to sue for his writing credits… and it was his work!

Sharon was magic at PR, as nobody thinks Ozzy is a shit head at all.

I don't know why The Weeknd and Drake are as popular as they are. I think it's media hype and branding, since young people are easily swayed by peer pressure. While they have a couple of decent songs, as artists they're mediocre at best. That said, I've also never been a Pink Floyd fan. Very mellow boring music that lacks grit and fire. Several good songs in the catalogue but I could pass on all of it.

Importance? Not sure music would be much different without all of the above. None have created anything new.
