As a teenager, Buddy Holly was my first musical rock idol. I wore the dark black rimmed glasses same as his and my dark hair . I have close to every song he and the crickets ever recorded in my collection. Too bad he died so tragically in the plane crash in 1959 along with The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens. One other singer that was supposed to be on that flight but took a bus instead so the Big Bopper could take his place was lucky Waylon Jennings. Lastly, the song American Pie recorded by Don McLean contained the lyrics The Day The Music Died.
