He was the first R & B singer that got me into loving Rhythm and Blues music at age 17 with the song Baby What You Want Me To Do.
lets give the original his props........Jimmy Reed
Wow. Been there, but prior to that, the original House of Lancaster was located at 40 University Ave. on the main floor of an office building with an Indescrete entrance. The stage was set up like a boxing ring with ropes and all. There was no lap dancing at that time, but the dancers were also barmaids who serviced us while being topless. Was my first experience at a strip club. Like it so much I stayed there from 5pm until closing time. Hooked ever since.if i can share a little story.........me and some of my buds would occasionally go into The House of Lancaster on Queensway just east of Royal York back in the 80,s to drink beer and watch the dancers.....anyway one of the dancers was stripping to a song which caught my ear which i never heard before....i learned from one of my buds that it was "Hair of the Dog" by Nazareth...........i never heard of them lol....anyway i was intrigued enough to buy their album..Greatest Hits........and discovered they covered a tune by the Everly Bros and later done by Roy Orbison...Love Hurts.....great tune. done 3 different styles..............and no i didnt get a table dance from the stripper...lol..
oh please dont pile on...lol...I always wondered what this song would sound like if an actual band played it.
