i was lucky enough to enjoy his music in person back in the late 70,s, forget the exact year, but he was playing at the Beverley Hills club...i think that,s what it was called....it was on Wilson Ave west of Jane, toward Weston Rd..anyway he put on a great show, playing one hit after the other.....
That could have been the Crang Plaza on Wilson and Jane. That is where is saw Ronnie Hawkins back in the day.

actually Eddie , i dont think it was Crang Plaza.....where i saw Roy was in a stand alone bar/hotel west of there.....on a side note.. as a young whipper snapper i went and saw Little Jackie Shane in Crang Plaza,, in an area in the bowling alley there if memory serves me.....and i also saw Eddie Floyd at the same venue, ...i grew up there.....went to St Phillips school, which was behind York Plaza

You are probably right. It could have been in the old Beverly Hills Hotel Lounge. I actually saw Jackie Shane at the old Club Blue note on Yonge ands Gerrard many years ago. It was an after hours club that featured acts from the U.S Great place to pick up hot chicks. Sorry but I don't know of Eddie Floyd

Eddie Floyd was a Stax artist. Hits such as Knock On Wood, Raise Your Hand, I've Never Found A Girl, Bring It On Home To me, and a great but obscure b-side "Good Love, Bad Love" that I first heard in the Quentin Tarantino movie Death Proof, jukebox scene.
