I like the Bill Withers song...good vocals.I'm going to let you in on a little secret.
I like Hanson. Not the MMMBop Hanson but as they grew older they showed me a different side that is worthy of mention.

He is still alive at 85. Married his 13 year old cousin. Then married 6 times after that. He could bang a piano better than anyone.
Great Louisiana blues jazzman. My first bought album of that genre.A very well chosen artist, Shack. I gravitate towards Cajun and Zydeco music when I need a pick me up.
Just had a wonderful voice. Saw a show of his on PBS years ago called Black and White. Great songs and he had about 4 background guitarists, one had Played for Elvis and a very young player who was trying to outplay the others with his enthusiasm. Later I recognized him as a very young Bruce Springsteen. Also, 4 female background singers, again one I recognized and it was a very young K.D. Lang who later recorded that great duet with Roy, CRYING.
very early Roy...the lyrics are non sensical.....but the guitar work is stellar
Loved Aaron Neville's cover of Leonard Cohen's Like A Bird On A Wire.A little more Nawlins:
i was lucky enough to enjoy his music in person back in the late 70,s, forget the exact year, but he was playing at the Beverley Hills club...i think that,s what it was called....it was on Wilson Ave west of Jane, toward Weston Rd..anyway he put on a great show, playing one hit after the other.....Just had a wonderful voice. You are probably right. It could have been in the old Beverly Hills Hotel Lounge. I actually saw Jackie Shane at the old Club Blue note on Yonge ands Gerrard many years ago. It was an after hours club that featured acts from the U.S Great place to pick up hot chicks. Sorry but I don't know of Eddie Floydactually Eddie , i dont think it was Crang Plaza.....where i saw Roy was in a stand alone bar/hotel west of there.....on a side note.. as a young whipper snapper i went and saw Little Jackie Shane in Crang Plaza,, in an area in the bowling alley there if memory serves me.....and i also saw Eddie Floyd at the same venue, ...i grew up there.....went to St Phillips school, which was behind York Plaza
