Post #705. Joan Jett indeed did a cover of their original hit, Crimson & Clover.
Given all their Hits and other well known artists who have covered their material, you would think that they would be more popular.

Always was a fan of The Pretenders, they were on a double bill with 5 Neat Guys.
As far as I'm concerned the Aja album is one of the greatest soulful rock masterpieces of all time.

Elvis Costello nailed it with this 1983 gem of a track. Pure artistry.
If you can believe it i saw MC5 in a little club in NYC shortly after their "Kick Out The Jams" lp came out in 1969. Couldn't have been more than 10 people in the audience. Surprised my ears weren't bleeding after their set. Rama Lama Fa Fa Fa indeed!

If I remember correctly the Jefferson Airplane's "Volunteers Of Amerika" album from 1969 had similar issues.
Also brings to mind when Ed Sullivan forced the Rolling Stones to change the lyrics from "Let's Spend The Night Together", to "Let's Spend Some Time Together" in order to perform that song on his show.
Also i had an early pressing of their lp with the "Kick out the jams, Motherfuckers" phrase, as opposed to the "Kick out the jams, brothers and sisters" version.
