No need to apologize for the Cars. Friggin great group.

The Cars perform on the BBC series Rock Goes to College , broadcast January 13, 1979. The show was recorded on November 22, 1978 at the University of Sussex in Brighton.

The original 1979 broadcast may have been the full show; this is a 30 minute edit. Originally the TV broadcast would have been simulcast on BBC FM.

I just capped of the best holiday season this decade. In 2023/24 I was very sick, in 24/25 I had to attend a Boxing Day funeral - got very sick and almost died. 25/26 has been spectacular, from the Festivus Sumo Challenge to the birthday party I just got back from. It was amazing.

Why do I love The Cars so much, they have CCR appeal.

Newly uploaded:

Nirvana at the Opera House, Toronto on September 20, 1991.

This was the first night of the North American Nevermind tour, filmed from the balcony. The album was released four days later.

The band played 31 club gigs from September 20 to October 31, plus a handful of in-store appearances in record stores before returning stateside in late December for a few arena shows on the West Coast, as part of a triple bill with Red Hot Chili Peppers headlining and Pearl Jam opening.

On January 11, 1992, Nirvana performed on Saturday Night Live the same week that Nevermind reached #1 on the Billboard Album chart.

It is believed that EVERY one of Nirvana's live concerts from 1987-94 was videotaped by someone, and most have surfaced for public enjoyment. This show had minimal distribution before 2003. Most of the 1991 North American Nevermind tour videos don't show the whole band physically, because of other spectators standing between the cameraman and the stage.

I supplied the 2nd generation VHS tape used for the DVD of this show. I bought it in the mid 1990's at a small store on John Street, across from the side of what was then the CITY-TV building on Queen Street.

Video quality is not good, but the sound is decent, and this is true 'historic' video. Props to Alan Deane for the DVD authoring. I made the Xvid version with an app named GordianKnot.

Bullshit quiz. I know most pre-2,000 guitarists, and there was no hope in identifying any of them from the single notes in the quiz...
