Best song of the band, imo, was AMERICAN WOMAN, sung by lead singer Canadian BURTON CUMMINGS who had one great strong voice.

Yes it was, I was not referring to The Ban with Levon Helm, my bad. I did see them at the old Concord Tavern on Bloor St.

Never heard this before I enjoyed. Still it doesn't touch this Guess Who masterpiece. In my opinion one of the greatest rock songs of all time

"Undun"

Burton's vocals are simply divine. The drumming, the jazzy guitar are not far behind. Its an absolute criminality that they have not been inducted into the RRHOF.

It's difficult to pick between Burton Cummings and David Clayton Thomas.

A harmonically perfect song and yet The Youngbloods are a one hit wonder. Never heard this song before Forrest Gump.

RIP John Rutsey.

He had Type 1 diabetes, his tour dates were limited. Neil Peart wasn't initially part of Toronto's music scene. He was born in Hamilton and grew up in Port Delhouse. I've always wondered where Lakeside Park was, it's the Port Delhousie penninsula before St Catherines.

Randy Bachman, lead guitarist for the Guess Who, was taught guitar by his friend and jazz great Lenny Breau when Lenny lived in Winnipeg.

Randy studied the famous Mickey Baker Jazz Guitar Books 1 & 2 which had chord variations that were way too complex for me...

Hence the chords in "Undun", though for most of their songs he used regular rock chords.
