Absolutely zero that I admire the guy for....like a big zero in the admiration category.the Star article hit the nail on the head
You still don't get it.

It is admirable of him to take calls, etc. in his down time. Just like it would be for any person who's very sick to carry on their day to day functions.

I don't care if YOU admire him.

No it's not...admirable...it's actually sadly pathetic...his actions are eliciting pathos...not admiration. Then again, perhaps you have admired him all along, and in the same spirit of your comment, I don't care if YOU admire him. Robs always been a pathetic fuck...cancer doesn't change that. He's an unadmirable pathetic fuck, who is maybe going to die soon...end of story

With an aggressive cancer that has spread to multiple organs and which was detected because it started causing physical symptoms?

It really wouldn't surprise me
I havent heard in the news that the cancer "spread to multiple organs".

You got a source on that??

EDIT: I think you misread. The cancer has NOT spread to any organs:

Rob Ford diagnosed with 'difficult' malignant tumour; doctor optimistic about treatment

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been diagnosed with a rare and “fairly aggressive” type of malignant tumour, the doctor overseeing his care announced Wednesday.

Dr. Zane Cohen, a colorectal surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital, said Ford was diagnosed with pleomorphic liposarcoma, a type of cancer found in soft, fatty tissue of the body.

The diagnosis was reached after two biopsies and a “comprehensive medical assessment,” Cohen said.

The tumour in Ford’s abdomen is about 12 by 12 centimetres in size. It is considered to be a "difficult" and aggressive tumour that must have grown over the last three years, since it didn’t show up on a scan the mayor had in 2011, when he was treated for kidney stones, Cohen said.

“We think it's a fairly aggressive tumour, mainly because these types of tumours are often slow growing,” Cohen told reporters.

However, doctors are optimistic about Ford’s treatment, Cohen said.

“We are treating this very aggressively in order to eradicate the tumour,” he said.

The cancer has not spread to any organs, but another, much smaller, tumour was found in the mayor’s buttock, behind the left hip, Cohen said. That tumour is about two centimetres long

It's actuAlly a mass in the fatty tissues. Organs not affected yet.

the key will be determining if it has gotten into the lymph nodes.

Its in his gut and in his ass.
Since its lives in fatty tissue, its got lots of room to grow.

The fact that they aren't operating and just using chemo seems to indicate that they are worried about its spread, and it seems this one is largely cured by surgery.
My guess is that its spread, the chemo won't do too much but he'll have an operation to try to remove the main one but that it will prove systematic and his large fat deposits will prove too nice a home for more cells.

Of course I'm not a doctor, I only play one with SP's.

Now he will have a legitimate reason to smoke pot.
Toronto Police are staking out the joint & looking to finally take Ford down. In Operation, "We have nothing better to do."

It may sound far-fetched but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Well that's good news. I had thought it had spread to his lung, glad that is not the case.
That was something that had been reported by the news, well it was reported a biopsy had been done there. In fact they had to perform a second biopsy in the abdominal area due mainly to the origional sample had to much necrotic tissue to be conclusive.

And yes I'm glad too. It makes a huge difference to the prognosis.

It was also incorrectly reported he had a tumour removed from his appendix back in 2010. I still go back to the fact that he'd been complaining of pain for 3 months but never got it checked out. Had he done so, he would've had a 3 month head start on chemo which could only help. The sooner the better as they say.

I think Groggy is cheering for the cancer. Based on his support of terrorism and his dislike of democracy my guess is that he sees death and physical harm as a good solution to political disagreement.

I want Rob Ford defeated at the ballot box because his ideas have been rejected by the voters. In a democracy, we are strongest when our political enemies are alive and well and outspoken but still unable to win an election. It isn't much of a democratic race when the other guy dies.

If the tumour is in fat tissue, why didn't doctors extirpate before chemo?
According to Dr. Zane Cohen, the plan of action with this type of cancer is to do chemo first. I'm sure they guy knows what he's talking about.
