Unless they have tapped your phone or setup microphones at the location I don't see how they're gonna prove that any solicitation happened unless you stupidly admit that it did.

I have a hard time seeing them do anything even if neighbors do complain. I've had a neighbor blaring music all day and night year after year so loud that people a block away can here it. Once in a while a bylaw officer shows up, then leaves when the guy doesn't answer the door. Seems to me the police are mostly interested in giving out traffic tickets.

That's a great point dj1470. I guess you need to be prepared for the consequences in the rare event it happened, and if you're not then you're right...you probably shouldn't take the step. Lots to think about.
