Dennis played largely before my time but he was a 5 time All Star and put up 654 career points. Including a 90 point season. So he was obviously skilled. But like jarhead said he exceled as a public speaker after his career was over. A great ambassador for the game. RIP.

One of the funniest and best public speakers I've ever encountered. Also, likely he was very underated as a player. RIP
I think playing in his brother's shadow didn't help.
If Einstein's brother was even slightly above average in IQ, he would appear to be dumb.

I remember playing fastball with his nephew back in the 70's..he'd bring both his uncles
Dennis and Bobby to tourneys sometime when they weren't on the farm working
Both were larger than life characters to a bunch of 15..16 Y/O.
Bobby had the most massive shoulders Id ever seen

He was as entertaining after his career as he was during his career. Dennis would most likely say he was a lot more entertaining afterwards(pause for laughs). For those who like Jim Ralph's humour they would love Dennis Hull. Remember he played for Team Canada in 1972 when his Brother was not invited. RIP.
